Venus & Mars Engendering Love and War in Medieval and Early Modern Europe
Collection of ten articles, arising from the second annual conference of the Perth Medieval and Renaissance Group held in WA in 1993. Discusses topics such as representations of the human body in love and war in the late-classical, medieval and early modern periods, witchcraft and sexuality, transvestism and gender constructions, and aspects of romantic love in medieval literature. Includes references. Lynch is senior lecturer in English, and Maddern teaches medieval and women's history at the University of WA. Both have published extensively in their fields.
