Laura Dobie@MovingToyshop
An epic novel that explores post-covid London and UK society through a cast of disparate characters - the old guard, the trendy young things who are superseding them, young disrupters, oligarchs and playboys, big time and small time criminals, and hopeful migrants. It highlights the decay and corruption, and people’s desires, ambitions, denials, and the lies that they tell themselves to convince themselves that they are good people. It very much captures the concerns and anxieties of the present age, and the identity crisis and fall of its central protagonist is compelling, inevitable and also deeply sad.
