The dream sequence at the beginning with different art styles echoing Tom of Finland was genius and inspired. I loved the introduction of the newer antagonist and how they weren’t written in a cartoonish way. I loved getting the backstory to Ezekiel and Thorndike Scar. I loved getting more characterization out of the secondary characters and seeing them shine in this issue. I love that our protagonist is a flawed and sometimes dark character, which is an urban fantasy noir trope that I loved seeing here. I loved this instalment but am sad that I’m nearing the end of this run without knowing if this series will continue in the future.
