enjoyed the plot and pacing of the book like it’s giving c drama in my head. the plot is similar to her other books with the supernatural element but this one has an added thriller/mystery vibe by starting off with the vision at the lake which i enjoyed! 

chanel gives it-girl heiress energy however she’s so much more than her fabulous, luxe reputation as a public figure. she’s a sweetie with a heart of gold that deeply cares for other people. despite her anti love/man eater mindset, she yearns to be loved not just romantically but by her mom.

i love chanel’s character development in this where she started off very closed off, never wanting to trust any man due to her witnessing her own parents and her past relationships. chanel being a man hater in the beginning of the story then as the story progresses, she’s slowly building trust towards aeres and opening her heart to him

aeres at first gives off nonchalant bad boy vibes - definitely started off very mysterious and i was so curious about his character especially his role in the story and what his own story was with his missing brother but he’s turns out being such a gentle softie that’s a math genius wow I love that duality

he’s very observant and attentive especially towards chanel HEHEHE GIGGLE also the lychee cake he got her??? SWOON we love a man that listens and cares. honestly him getting the lychee cake for her GOT ME bc act of service and food is my love language!!! also you can tell aeries is worried about chanel’s eating habits

even though chanel and aeres have seemingly different personalities, they are both two sides of the same coin where they have both guarded and secretive while putting up a wall towards the world. with chanel’s curated facade and aeres’s mysterious aura. they understand each other’s sadness and loneliness

love the cameos from alice and henry !!!!! cuties 

i’m enjoying the dynamics  and banter between chanel and aeres but i felt like their love felt rushed. the author did well on developing the storyline and the characters individual growth however i felt like the author forgot to SHOW the relationship development between chanel and aeres. 

overall besides my one qualm, this book was good especially the character focused story and unique plot
