I really liked the magic system in Rebel Skies by Ann Sei Linn, with the paper manipulation and crafters. Also the setting of floating cities was very intriguing, the conflict between the groundlings and Sorabito (sky people) was also interesting.

However I could not pay attention to the plot, so much was happing at the same time. The story went from left to right and it was just all over the place.

The ending was also very sudden, I didn't really know what was happening and I wasn't aware this book was part of a series... oops.

So overall the concept was really nice, but it was a bit all over the place.
