a glimpse through Kavan's entourage of love and its implications. so personally-intricated yet the abject of its horrors creep upon you through as you realize the impervious dread between each and every of her sentences was actually forming from obfuscated meshes of her own individual experience being addicted to drugs or a hallucinatory surreal phantasm. the ramifications for all of her subsequent life — difficulty in finding and keeping love, lack of meaning, loneliness and isolation, clinical depression, and then on top of that the baggage associated with her long-term heroin use as an attempt to self medicate for her problems. this book left me with this atmospheric sadness, of relativity in naming bazooka as her syringe, her combat towards this addiction that was nonetheless, the only way of survival to her.
