Readable, well researched, packed with information, well, its basically a really gripping read.

Harrington did a great job with tracing the progression of paradigms adopted by psychiatrists, psychologists and neurologists.
Starting with strange obsolete mental illness treatments and the transformation of psychiatry’s most iconic disorders. 
The author touched on the matter of DSM and its credibility, the placebo effect issue and why psychiatry faces huge challenges in running clinical trials (the bedrock of evidence-based medicine) and interpreting evidence. 

Highly recommended.
