Obligatory note that I did not read the original adventures of Miss Petitfour. I really enjoyed this book, which reminds me of classics such as Edgar Eager’s books and The Phantom Tollbooth and Miss Piggly-Wiggly. Miss Petitfour likes to have adventures that are “just the right size” for a “single, magical day”. Also she has sixteen cats and they each have a distinct personality, which is delightful. The illustrations are fantastic, and it’s a cozy read. You can read it story by story or all in one day, but I definitely recommend reading it story by story, even though it’ll be hard! Lots of creative wordplay in here, including vocabulary words to expand yours. Five stars.

The Further Adventures of Miss Petitfour was a very charming series of short stories, though I wish I had been able to read the physical copy rather than the ebook. The ebook wasn't able to capture the illustrations, typography, and spacing as well as a physical book could, I'm sure. Harkening back to Mary Poppins and The Phantom Tollbooth, Miss Petitfour's stories teach children words and literary devices in and amongst the whimsical, nonsensical stories. I found some of the self-admitted digressions and broken fourth walls a bit tedious, even if they were teaching moments, but overall enjoyed the silly meanderings of Miss Petitfour and her cats.
