Circle of Cranes

Taken from her small, impoverished Chinese village and forced to work in a New York City sweatshop, 13-year-old Suyin is visited by magical cranes that she feels a strange connection to and learns she is the daughter of the Crane Queen who needs her help, in a lyrical fantasy that blends fairy tale elements with contemporary issues.
