2.4 stars I liked it, just didn't love it (3 stars) 

****SPOILERS AHEAD*****

I surprisingly enjoyed this book more than Forever and a day. Considering I enjoyed Casino Royale the most. I felt that the plot- of Bond "killing M", him " being mind controlled" and his relation with his bond girl, was far more interesting and logical compared to the first one. For course I saw the love interest Katya's death coming, but I felt that she was a better love interest as compared to the bond girl in forever and a day, that being said, the bond girl's (in FaAD) lack of character was sort of made up by her death so... Anyways, I really felt that the action scenes in this book was a multitude of ways better than those in FaAD- train fight and opera scene. This book really flew by and I definitely enjoyed reading this installment more. 
Oh and I particularly liked, the scene where he hurt himself in order to break out of the mind control.

I never read any of Ian Fleming’s Bond novels and simply picked this up because I enjoy reading Anthony Horowitz. It’s full of action and adventure and quite enjoyable. It references things which happened in earlier Bond novels by Horowitz (apparently this is the third he’s written in this series), but that was not a problem - it rather intrigued me to possibly read those some day.
