This is the third book of the "Inheritance" five book Collection. All books are short stories about secrets within families and the consequences that come from it. 

"The lion's den" is about the relationship between a son and a father. The father is a pariah and a whistle-blower, that worked for the NSA and revealed classified information. The son lived through the mayhem caused by his father's actions and, for money, wrote a book about his father that was considered disrespectful.
At the age of thirty four Michael is unemployed and moves into his parents home. His father now suffers from cancer and Michael helps anyway he can, and that includes taking him everyday to the zoo to see the lions. 
The guilt of writing a book about his father and it's consequences take a toll on father-son relationship. But not all is lost as his father reconciles with his son, surprising him with the never before written memoirs.
