Robin was one of my favourite new characters from the third season of Stranger Things and when I found out about this backstory novel about her I needed to read it asap. This book mostly takes place around the same time season 1 of Stranger Things happens (and a little after) and I really enjoyed reading about the events of the season from the POV of someone who wasn't involved. (view spoiler)[Of course no one who wasn't directly involved knew what truly happened and Robin doesn't meet the ST gang until 1985, so there wasn't really any scifi aspect to this story. (hide spoiler)]

There were lots of references to the show and of course characters that make appearances in S1 and S2 make an appearance in this book as well. 

All-in-all, I really enjoyed this story and I definitely am going to check out the other two books in this series that I haven't read yet, because I think they might be nice as well! (One of them is about Hopper, the other about Max).

I love Robin, If I would have been a bit younger she would probably be my gay awaking. 

Even though the Story plays in the 80's I can still relate to Robin on so many layers which just proves that humans never really change. There will always be weirdos and strange kids.

A lot of Easter eggs and references, a funny and authentic Robin, and a good coming of age story!

Robin is my favorite character on Stranger Things so I loved this! This book reads just like her and Capetta did a great job, adapting her to a novel format. This was an eighties, slice of life, I liked how this one is a 'Stranger Things' novel but we did not have the supernatural elements, so, we really just got to know Robin more as a character. One of the reasons that this book did not get a five star was sometimes the writing was just weird, the way things were described and then there was one scene where in Robin's mind she's having a conversation with Tammy Thompson and ... Steve's hair, his hair! That's just weird and I don't think anyone would do that, even, the weirdest girl in Hawkins. Another reason that I did not give the full five star is one of the chapters, the last one of part two, with Mr. Hauser, the reader has no idea why Robin feels this connection to him and what not, you have to listen to the podcast to know this. Luckily, I listened to the podcast that ties into the story, but if someone didn't they would be really confused. Overall, this was a fun read and probably my second favorite 'Stranger Things' book.
