I've been enjoying celebrity, and specifically comedian, biographies lately so I picked up Chelsea Handler's book - Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. 

Sadly, this book just didn't work for me. I love Chelsea Handler and enjoy her comedy. She's one of my go too, but her book just didn't align with my reading style. I prefer biographies that have a through line or a story. This book was a collection of random stories that's connection was just Chelsea. The writing is fun and the stories are great, but it didn't keep me engaged. Which is totally alright! It's a different style of biography than what I typically enjoy. 

I don't have anything bad to say about the book. It's funny and a great read, but just not a hit for me. So while my rating may be low, that's solely because it didn't align well for me.

I wanted to die laughing as I read this book! It was such a riot. I love Chelsea's talk show but I didn't the book was going to be this hilarious. I'm going to start the next one as soon as I can ge my hands on it!

A collection of anecdotes from Chelsea's life. Some are quite funny, others are very crude and in poor taste. A quick read and the sort of book you forget you've read, once you've turned the last page.

Hi-lair-ree-us. My favorite chapter was about Kimmy, the twin midget who comes to the set to play in a skit on Cheslea Lately. 

The whole thing is great for light-hearted comedic reading, so if you don't feel like anything heavy, ditch your trashy chick lit and pick up something entertaining.

While the book was entertaining, I did not find myself laughing like I did at her second book. A lot of the stories made me raise my eyebrows in a I-think-she-is-taking-liberties-on-what-really-happened type of way. But bottom line is that she kept me entertained and engaged. What more can I ask for a book to do?
