This was such a great second installment! Where the first book lacked in action, this book had so much more action! And more dragons. Mira was more likeable this time around and I enjoyed watching her grow and embrace herself more. I really enjoyed the subtle nods to some of our own political climate & issues and the authors take on it. I have to say, I’m not 100% I always understand what is going on or why something happens in this series. I do find myself a bit confused and re-reading passages to see if I missed something. But alas, I think it’s just me.

A lot better than the first one. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but the writing, plot and characters were a LOT better. And action, finally! I'm curious about the third book.
