Very hit and miss. Honourable mentions - Fox Magic & The Empress Jingu Fishes.

A splendid collection. Johnson shows enormous range from story to story. We get thoughtful magical realism, alien sex fiend horror, a children's story about cats in Japan, metafiction, joke stories, an animal tale about cruel girls, and heroic fantasy. Strongly recommended.
