Austen, Jane

Un roman în care recunoastem stilul inconfundabil al scriitoarei Jane Austen. Actiunea se desfasoara cand în bogata resedinta de la tara, Mansfield Park, cand într-o casa modesta dintr-un port maritim. Personajele, cu preocuparile lor, cu calitatile si defectele lor, clar conturate, unele cu maniere de societate aleasa, altele de oameni simpli, îsi traiesc intens sentimentele mai mult sau mai putin împartasite. Nu lipseste si o nota moralizatoare. Toate acestea îl transporta pe cititor în atmosfera Angliei din secolul al XIX-lea. Este un fel de excursie imaginara în timp si spatiu, si cui, oare, nu-i face bine o scurta evadare din cotidianul agitat si obositor?

Doğamızın herhangi bir yetisinin diğerlerinden daha üstün olduğunu söyleyebilirsek bence bu, bellektir. Belleğimizin gücünde, zayıflıklarında, ayarsızlıklarında, zeka yetilerimizin hepsinden daha anlaşılmaz bir yan var. Bellek denen şey bazen öyle tutucu, öyle işe yarar, öylesine uysaldır. Bazen de o derece şaşkın ve zayıf. Başka zamanlarda da öylesine dik başlı ve yola gelmez! Gerçi biz insanlar her bakımdan bir mucize sayılırız ama anımsamak ve unutmak yeteneğimiz özellikle anlaşılmaz bir sır.
