I finished this book with mixed feelings. I don't know where to start but, they deserve a happy ending. This is the best enemy to lovers trope that I've ever read for now, but the ending ... ARGH. Suddenly, I feel empty.

The story begins with Inesa fighting for her life alongside her younger brother, Luka. Trapped in a 

 that forces them to constantly fight to survive. And there's Melinoë, who must also struggle, survive, and fight against the systems that have been instilled in her life. Like a puppet who must continually fulfill the wishes of its creator.

This book seems to show the horror of human greed in a world devastated by the destruction it has wrought. It seems as if having hope and peace in life is something frightening and impossible. And that destruction seems to be happening right now, this very second, in the world we live in.

This book is indeed filled with all the efforts to survive, but it is also spiced with all kinds of struggles for loved ones. I think this book deserves more attention, aside from the annoying ending (sorry), it was quite enjoyable to read.
