Nash and his cousins have been in a battle for Grandma Betty's last Christmas Gift. They loved her with everything they had and they all want to have that gift! But only one can win and Nash is determined it'll be him. He's not averse to "finessing" the rules in his favour either LOL. When his mum mentions to him that he could help out a near stranger, both getting what they need out of a marriage of convenience, Nash sees a way to ensure a quick victory. Chelle Finch should have had an idyllic childhood, growing up in luxury. But her family is so mired in the patriarchy and misogyny it's kinda surprising she turned out as normal as she did! She wants her family's foundation to flourish, not be the tax write-off her uncle wants. But thanks to an appalling will left by her father it's either get married or lose it. Enter Nash. Supposedly the answer to her prayers and a quick divorce in the New Year. Shame her ladybits have decided that he's the only one for her! Nash may be a Mansplainer but it comes from a place of love, unlike Chelle's family. He's so used to having to look after everyone it's second nature to railroad people into what's best for them. But Chelle is no pussycat, she'll fight for what she believes is right. But will she also cling to "her way or no way" even when it's clear that she may just need a fresh view of something? Chelle is almost a decade older than Nash, a mere drop in the bucket but with her extra pounds she's always been made to feel less than and so she struggles to accept that Nash's feelings may be genuine. Nash is well aware of their differences but he sees past all that and down to her soul and wants her for herself, not what she can give him. Similarly, Chelle finally realises that the private Nash is not always quite so in charge as the public Nash! I loved finding out what was in the parcel! Nash and Chelle totally deserve credit for that very Finch-Beckett solution, LOL. And let's also remember that there are other Beckett cousins so let's hope that they will be back soon with more shennanigans!
