i'm just gonna ignore that tell-all epilogue...

It was a cute lil rom com. A bit cringy at times but what’d I expect 🤷🏼♀️

Just wasn't for me. Just too "with the times" trying to be cool. Did I miss the location being described? She traveled to Salem and everyone instantly recognized her there. Enough that they already had their phones out ready to record. Is she really that non-famous? It's "cool" enough to be YA, but the content and language were definitely adult. Lastly, I did not feel the chemistry between the couple. I still don't get why she hated him so much in the beginning.

“there will never be an end to me wanting to love you“ • Imagine you are a non-magical person, born into the most powerful and revered witch family in the world. Now imagine that you are trying to date in said world, but you keep getting set up on blind dates with your magic-wielding nemesis…by your family matchmaker (and godmother) no less! Eventually, you are somehow responsible for a curse that is placed on your entire family (”entire” meaning the extended, far-reaching members as well), and you have to team up with your aforementioned nemesis to save them. Throw in some nefarious secret sects, trolls, magical mushrooms, a very grumpy but lovable unicorn, rescuing people from exile, the best friends anyone could ask for, and a magical heist that is worthy of Nicolas Cage, and you’ve got yourself Witcha Gonna Do?. Both Tilda and Gil are hilarious and likable characters placed in this incredibly fun, modern magical world that Avery Flynn has created! Let the magic sweep you off your feet, and happy reading! • read if you like: ♡ enemies to lovers ♡ dual pov ♡ magical heists ♡ nefarious witch councils ♡ National Treasure…think “I’m gonna steal the Declaration of Independence” ♡ double agents ♡ magic in the real world ♡ sassy unicorns ♡ misinterpreted tarot readings ♡ on-page steam ♡ big families ♡ resistance factions ♡ family curses ♡ witchy matchmaking ♡ cheeky roosters ♡ sensual train rendezvous ♡ breaking the fourth wall writing style

I'd been looking forward to reading this for ages, but it was so disappointing. The writing was so juvenile. It felt like an early 2010 Tumblr post that gets more ridiculous with every reblog. There were so many moments that had me cringing. Flynn tried too hard to have her characters come across as ~quirky~, and it ruined the whole story for me. The plot was also chaotic and all over the place. If Flynn streamlined the story, made it more cohesive, and wrote characters that didn't feel like caricatures, this would've been good, but unfortunately, it was a big mess.

Good spice, meh story

Tilda is from one of the most powerful witch families known to all, but sadly that makes life a little harder for her since she doesn’t have any magic herself.
And as if life wasn’t hard enough, she is being investigated by an arch nemesis who’s got some secrets of his own.
If you like world building, magical politics, grumpy-sunshine, lotsssss of tension and a fun inner monologue then this is for you!
