I think this is a good book just to read for the story.

Ayn Rand's first novel, takes place in 1920's Russia in what is now known as St Petersburg. It's about a young, capitalist girl who rejects the idea of socialism and the growing and more popular ideas of the proletariat... but not before having sex with a man whose ideals she hates and falling in love with a man whose passion isn't worth of hers.

The gorgeous picture Rand is able to paint of Russia is amazing. Hell, read it for the sex if nothing else.
