Bad for You
Reviews

Bad For You is the third installment in the "Dirty Deeds" series and I immediately grabbed this one up in audiobook. I have adored being able to listen to this in narration especially with these two narrators together. They do such a brilliant job together. This story was so much more emotional than I was expecting, but it also has some great bantering and inner dialogue to balance out the more edgy topics that this author handles. We also see that this also has a single dad and friends to lovers trope. This story begins with our hero Sean, who has a dark past of being abused and having to steal just to survive since he was just a child. He has been treated horribly in thinking the worst of himself and is a ex convict for just trying to care for his family even if it was done in the wrong way. He is a devoted father and a caring man. From the first few pages, you become so hooked into this book. Then we have our heroine, who works at the bar/restauraunt that Shane does. She has always been attracted to him, but is shy about how she has shown her attraction to him. But now Shane is wanting to explore something more with Shayla. As they begin exploring a relationship together, healing is formed when Shayla is able to reach a part of Shane that he has kept locked away for years. Bad For You was everything that I could have hoped for and more and is my favorite book of the series and I have really enjoyed the books up until now, but there was something so much deeper and complex that is delivered within this story. This hero just broke my heart so completely, I just wanted him to find his HEA. I was completely on his team and I really found that Shayla was just right for him. She is so open and loving and exactly the type of woman that he needs. She has such a sweet fresh outlook on life that opens Shane to other possibilities. You see what a loving father he is and how much he needs more in his life. The way he is with his children, you can just see that he is bursting to love others and just wants to be loved but has never felt worthy of it. This story is completely the journey of our hero Shane and seeing his growth and learning to let go of the past and the abuse he suffered and start believing in himself. I just wanted to cuddle this sweet man. I really felt like J. Daniels really wrote his character so well and implemented his heart in such a vivid way that just strikes directly to the heart of the reader. Its not a romance for the faint of heart and is not a rom com, but a true in depth representation of the human heart and the way that this romance is developed was beyond beautiful. Shane and Shay were just a strong pair and from the beginning you can just feel the intensity of their connection. Overall I found this story to be a heartfelt, strike the chords of the soul story that will showcase the value of redemption, healing and unlimited love!

Worthy I didn’t know what to expect; I simply enjoyed the ride. This was an emotional journey between Sean and Shayla. Friends to lovers. Shayla believed in Sean when most wouldn’t. This was a slow burn read but when the flames erupted it was the best. This book shows what the love a good woman can do for a man. It was a good read. New Young Adult.

I voluntarily received an advanced review copy of this book and chose to review it. Oh. My. God. I LOVED this book. Stitch was just... oh my god! And shayla was as sweet as pie. This book had all the feels, and I mean ALL the feels! It was heartwrenchingly beautiful, heartwrenchingly sweet, hot, funny, it had drama, it had EVERYTHING. Words cannot express how much I loved this book. Do yourself a favour and read it NOW!

I LOVED Shay and Sean!!! I am participating in the blogtour. my review will be on the blog tomorrow.

Everyone needs to read J. Daniel books right now. You will not regret it at all. You will forever be a fan for J. Daniels. She knows how to write the most wonderful yet hilarious romance books ever. And she did it again with Bad for You. You will need to read the previous two books since it is a series. And I definitely recommended them too. But let's get start on Bad for You. Bad for You will start off with Stitch and Shay not being in a good place with each other. And I can recap with you on why. Stitch and Shay have feelings for each other that you want them together but Stitch has some heavy baggage that he needs to sort. But he does not explain that to Shay that makes her more confuse and then the misunderstanding will start with them. But now we are in the present, and they will start communicate, it may be a struggle for them but what relationship is not. Stitch, oh Stitch. You got to love him. He is just a teddy bear, just a little silent and grumpy. But that's who he is. And we finally discover his story. Everyone start screaming cause it's a heavy one. Stitch has always had a tough childhood that lead him to bad decisions including going to jail which he does regret. He was trying to hard to provide for his family. Oh yes, you have heard me. Stitch has a wife and a child that he absolutely love so much. And he was willing to do everything to provide for them which kinda land him to jail. But he definitely turn over a new leaf and he is willing to prove it. He just need a little help especially from Shay. He is just shy and confuse but Shay got this. And I love Shay even more for helping him and for loving him. And he definitely love her so much even when he is mess up at times. Shay is such a beautiful soul that you love her instantly. And she definitely gets confuse when Stitch acts weird around her. It takes some time for her to realize that he is very shy around her. He thinks he is undeserving of her but she is willing to make him understand that he is not what he was before. And I love her commit to Stitch. It makes loyal to anyone she loves. And that is a rare gem. Stitch and Shay are destined for each other. And it is going to take friends and family to make them realize that they are meant for each other. Bad for You will finally bring Stitch and Shay together together! Five Stars

Lately, I feel like I've been in a reading slump. Everything has me skimming. So I came across this book and I was hesitant because, I think I remembered reading the first one in the series and not being overly into it. But I read some reviews and alot of people said it had a KA feel to it. I'm a big Kristen Ashley fan, so I thought, I'd give this a shot. I'm really glad I did. I read this book with skipping ahead and just had a huge smile on my face. What I loved Characters: It was so refreshing to read about characters without wanting to strangle anyone. Shayla and Sean acted like reasonable people. While I LOVED Shayla, sometimes, just sometimes she was a bit over the top. But it was refreshing to have a female main character that was strong but without being bitchy. She was stubborn but listened, she didn't really act rashly. This is rarity and I loved it. I also loved how a situation that is rife for conflict wasn't mined for that. It was refreshing. Story: It was well written, a bit slow paced but no unnecessary drama. I'm okay with some angst, but angst for the sake of angst drives me insane. You'll find great characters packaged in sweet story. What I didn't like Characters: I know, I said I loved the characters and I did. But there are alot of people in this book and it was hard to keep track. It's part of a series, I didn't really feel lost but my curiosity was piqued and I'm going to look into the other books. The first part of the story introduced Shayla's brothers and they played an important part until they weren't needed anymore. It made it feel split up in a weird way. It was written well but the brothers were kind of discarded. Story: It felt like a long book and not much really happened. I mean there was a well crafted story but it was low angst. I guess I'm just so conditioned to waiting for the other shoe to drop, and kept waiting for it. I kept looking at the percentage thinking, okay something is going to happen now. Something really dramatic. But nothing really did. I think however, this is more of me problem than a book problem. This book was worth the purchase because I know I'll re-read it. That's kind of my standard. So if you're looking for a touching, sweet story, low on angst and enjoyable, pick this book up.

Shayla + Sean = ALL THE STARS!!!! After reading Four Letter Word I said Wild and Trouble were my favorite. Then I read Hit the Spot and declared Loser and Legs were my favorite. Now here I am, having just finished Bad for You, and all I have to say is Shay and Stitch are life!!!!! I didn't think anything could top the first two books in this series for me, but this one just accomplished that feat. I'm blown away. Gone. Consider me beat. This couple is everything. Shay and Stitch have that kind of chemistry we can only dream about. Despite being complete opposites, these two are so perfect for each other. Poor Stitch has had a difficult past, yet has come such a long way to being a better person. I just couldn't help but fall hard for this sexy chef. Shay was quirky and funny and just such a little spitfire! I absolutely adored her and would give anything to know her in person. This hairstylist has a heart of gold and a personality to match it. I couldn't help but fall HARD for these two, both separately and together. If you haven't read J. Daniels' yet, please do yourself a favor and remedy that asap. Though these books don't have to be read in order (they are standalone companion novels) I highly suggest you do read them in order since you meet the characters early-on. Plus they're all amazing. This has quickly become one of my favorite series EVER!

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life 4.5 STARS I have been WAITING for Shayla and Sean’s book ever since they were introduced in the first Dirty Deeds novel. The anticipation for them seemed endless and torturous, because I knew when I read it, it would blow me away. And that’s exactly what it did when I got my hands on this ARC. Their story was absolutely breathtaking and heart-wrenching – my heart nearly couldn’t handle all the feels that were being dished out. I freaking adored Shayla and Stitch – these two are my new favorite couple of the series. Sean for sure is my new favorite hero (sorry, Trouble and Loser!). For all you new adult romance lovers who love a good emotional read that will twist up your insides, I highly recommend Bad for You. Shayla Perkins swore that she wouldn’t give Sean Molina another chance after he rejected her and broke her heart. But after seeing time and again Sean acting on the kindness in his heart, despite his surly demeanor, she’s determined to mend fences between them and help him out with his personal troubles. She just can’t help the way her heart feels for him. “You deserve love and kindness because you put out those things, Sean. You deserve to feel wanted. I want you. I want you so much. Let yourself feel that.” Sean “Stitch” Molina grew up thinking he was nothing, that he was unworthy of anything and everything good – including Shayla. He has a past filled with heartache and pain, but Shayla makes him long for more than empty life he’s lived. She is the light that he never wanted to taint with his darkness, but this is a woman hell-bent on showing and giving him the love and happiness he doesn’t realize he deserves. I could feel Sean’s ache and longing for Shayla so clear through the pages – my heart broke for him over his past and his current struggles with accepting love into his life. When he finally learns to let love in with Shayla, it’s nothing short of beautiful. “How the fuck can I have my family when the woman I love more than my own fuckin’ life isn’t with me? You wanna explain that?” Sean and Shayla devastated me. Sean broke me, but Shayla healed me right alongside with him. J. Daniels did an incredible job with wringing out all the emotions in this novel. There were also so many unexpected, lovely things in this book that took me by surprise in the best way possible. We get to see a completely new side to Sean that is absolutely PRECIOUS. Honestly, you need to experience Shayla and Sean’s love story on your own – it’s one that will gut you and wreck you, but you will be glad for the experience. I simply loved it!
