This is the first book I truly enjoyed reading in the longest time. Gaile Parkin delivers a simple story of cake-baker who advises on universal matters of the heart, e.g. marriage, divorce, babies. But beyond the central storyline of friends and family, the author also gives a glimpse of today's Rwanda and the pan-African and international community who live there. The story deftly touches on subject matter such as genocide and AIDS that is in the everyday living of her characters' world. I heartily recommend this book.
