Barbarian Mine A Scifi Aien Romance

Ruby Dixon2015
The ice planet has given me a second lease on life, so I'm thrilled to be here. Sure, there's no cheeseburgers, but I'm healthy and ready to be a productive member of the small tribe. What I didn't anticipate? That there'd be a savage stranger waiting nearby, watching me. And when he takes me captive, the unthinkable happens...I resonate to him. Resonance means mating, and children...but I don't know if this guy's ever been around anyone before. He's truly a barbarian in all ways, right down to clubbing me over the head and claiming me as his own. So why is it that I crave his touch and hunger for more?

** spoiler alert ** i keep crying at these books. the stories are always surprisingly moving?? and the way they would do anything for each other and the men being so doting like it just gets me every time okay. harlow kind of annoyed me this book like she let people think she was dead for a YEAR instead of idk maybe checking to see if everyone was okay? at any point? but it's fine whatever it was a cute story

I was really pleasantly surprised by this book. I didn’t expect the plot to be more engaging than previous books lol. Although it is the least spicy one so far(🥲), I loved Rukh and Harlow as characters then as a couple together. My favourite so far followed closed by Liz and Raahosh haha

Cute, engaging and just a pleasure to come back in this world once in a while !

Love this series and the direction this one took! There were some small moments were I was like ???wtf??? But overall good! And FINALLY a birth. Wish the cancer side plot wasn’t just kinda thrown away and was hoping for it to be explored more!

More pregnancy-based plot than I expected (or wanted 😂) but I liked this pair, and it was cute. A surprise delight was the new bonus story ‘Fathers,’ and seeing Raahosh and Liz from book 2.

In a lot of ways this book was more of the same in the Ice Planet Barbarians series. I did. Like finally getting to see where Harlow disappeared to but I don’t think I enjoyed this as much as some of the previous books. I think it was the dynamic between Rukh and Harlow. He kidnapped her and I’m meant to believe it’s not Stockholm syndrome but love? I just couldn’t quite believe it. Add in the struggle to communicate and how uneducated and innocent Rukh was at the start it felt a little uncomfortable. I get he wasn’t being taken advantage of but also he didn’t understand a lot of what was happening as Harlow was his first interaction with an adult he’d had since he was a child. It didn’t feel all that romantic I suppose but that’s just me. I still flew through the book and couldn’t put it down. This series always delivers on being page turning.

Barbarian Mine, Bk 4 Ruby Dixon ★★★.₂₅ 👽 336 (pb) 🫁 rom-com, sci-fi 🛎️ smut: 🍆🍆 (male) / 🌶️🌶️ (fem) 🧸: terminal illness; pregnancy; kidnapping; ptsd; medical illness/ptsd Despite the fact that Har-loh (Harlow) and Rukh are not my favorite couple out of this four-part series, they are absolutely adorable. [There was something really exciting about this whole "Tarzan" parallel between Rukh and Harlow, so I fully understand Harlow's attraction to him.] 🥰 Because the novel is primarily devoted to one of the pregnant girls in the tribe finally giving birth to her child (Harlow), Harlow and Rukh's gradual relationship developed faster than that of the other girls. Considering that the two had to mate abruptly in order to facilitate the plot, I was more fascinated by their pregnancies and the mechanisms behind them. Being able to read about one of the adorable alien babies was so exciting! 👶 Love this for us. It was nice to hear more about each of the pregnant girls from the previous three books since we hadn't seen much of it. 👩‍🍼 It was enthralling to see how Harlow's illness, the so-called "Earth" illness, came into play when it came to the cooties (and between each of the other girls as well); I thought Harlow was a wonderful character. Having previously suffered from a brain tumor, Harlow struggles much like the other girls with the side effects of her treatment; not only is she dealing with PTSD, but also with a sense of inadequacy within herself. Rukh, who is in much the same position as Harlow, struggles with feelings of loneliness and being left behind. 🥹😭 By the end of the novel, the pair they make together is quite marvelous as they both need each other for different reasons, but end up being very similar as a result of their interdependence; I enjoyed them as a 🍐! This is the end of my physical reading of the Dixon ICE PLANET BARBARIANS series. You are a goddess, Ruby Dixon. Please continue to bless us with your wonderful words, always. 🥹😮‍💨✨

Honestly, this book rated lower for me than the others because the pregnancy trope is one of my least favorite in romances.

I read this in 5 hours. It was like alien romance meets George of the Jungle. We cant communicate but we be vibin'. I love how they said screw it and found a beach house. SO HAPPY SOMEONE FINALLY HAD A FREAK BABY. He was the definition of you before me always.

Another fun, soapy read. This one goes further down the timeline than the first three which I appreciate as things were starting to get re-hashed A LOT. nothing crazy to write home about, but a quick, easy read with a sweet, if somewhat unrealistic relationship. The spice is fun too, simple, but still nice to read.

Harlow and Rukh's story wasn't my favourite, but I still enjoyed it and sped through it in a day. I love how each pairing tackles something different and for this couple it was learning to communicate and survive together. I also love how there is a larger overarching plot to the series and how you get to see all the other characters living their lives in each book.

I hate pregnancy tropes Like the fact that they only get together because of dating mated ““I am a little annoyed with these books. But I’m not reading it for that.

Read this to see what all the hype was about. Not going to say I won't read the next one ;). However, I don't think the appeal for this book come from literariness but out of entertainment and that is why it is so popular.

This book follows yet another of the humans who are stranded on this frozen wasteland planet as she meets her mate, but this time, it's not a member of the tribe. He is the only lifeform on the planet who lives alone, and he has since he was a child, so his socializing skills are not great. Harlow is maybe my favorite of the heroines so far, because she's just a normal person. She reacts realistically to things like Liz but isn't obnoxious, which Liz certainly is. Harlow shows a lot of compassion to Rukh as he struggles to understand not only her culture, but the culture of his own people that he's been separated from his whole life. It's interesting that they finally brought babies into the mix. Seeing the evolution of this alien-human society is going to be interesting now that there are full-blown hybrids in the mix.
