I randomly chose to reread this one. I’ve always loved this series but I think this might have been the first time I’ve reread this one. I loved this story. In my opinion, this was the most realistic telling of a relationship where one of them is an addict and the other is doing everything they can to love them through it.

This was not the story I thought it would be, it was so much more. I thought I had an idea of what Ellie and Tyler's story would be, yeah I had no clue. 

Ellison Edson is one of the most real characters Jamie has written. She is on a path of self destruction taking down anyone in her path along the way. When protecting yourself means destroying someone else is not something everyone understands and gets. I see Ellie asking for help but not getting what she needs, she is beautifully broken and just keeps sinking deeper. Until she is cut off and force to take care of herself, she finds a part of herself, and she finds something she loves to do and is really good at but her drinking is getting out of hand. She keeps hurting the people that love her the most and until she seeks help she will just keep destroying. 

Tyler Maddox is what Ellie needs someone to love her through the rough parts and we all know that when a Maddox boy falls in love it's forever. Their "friends with benefits" relationship is hard to watch, but beautifully written you can't help but hope for the happy ending. 

Sometime hitting rock bottom is the thing you need to do before you get up and fight.
I loved this entire book, it was real, it was gritty, it was more than I expected.

Just when I thought I've seen it all with Jamie McGuire, she comes through with Ellie Edson. Wow. Oh wow. That is not the usual female character that Jamie would write about but, I find it really good and interesting. Ellie is probably the craziest female lead yet, but of course who else could a Maddox Brother love, then someone as crazy or even crazier than they are. 

Ellie is rich. When I say rich, I mean billionaire status. Yet, all the money, clothes, and unfortunately alcohol cannot fill the empty hole that is inside of her. It is alcohol that hinders all the relationships in her life because she cannot stay sober. She wants attention and she admits it from the very beginning, which I really admire. She knows that she has no reason to be empty or sad yet she can't help it and she feels guilty for feeling so. 

In comes, Tyler Maddox, Taylor's twin and equal, and just like his brother, when he meets Ellie he cannot stay away no matter how much she tries to push him out. Ellie knows that she isn't good for him. And I'm not saying that any of the Maddox brothers are saints, but I think in this book they finally met their match with someone that is more messed up mentally than they are. Ultimately, not even a Maddox's love can save Ellie, but ... it sure helps. My heart broke so many times when Tyler had no clue how to help. He only knew how to love, and that gave Ellie the courage to overcome her demons and get the help she needed. 

Side Note: Finally someone else noticed all the secrets that are going on with this family! Falyn and Ellie should be friends and open up their own Private Investigator firm or something!

No puedo creer que este sea el libro final de los hermanos Maddox. Como siempre, Jamie no me defraudó y ame cada hoja de este libro... Habían veces que me confundía en que momento transcurría la historia porque pensé que pasaba después del anterior, pero al fin entendí desde donde seguía la historia y fue algo que sin duda me gustó.

Tantas cosas buenas en este libro, como en cualquier otro relacionado con estos hermanos, amé todas las escenas de ellos, Abby y obviamente la relación de Tyler y Ellie. Hubieron muchas veces que me caía mal Ellie, sobretodo al principio por ser una niña malcriada y hacer lo que quisiera, pero después con todo lo que pasaba pude comprender un poco el porque era así, aunque lo único que quería era que le dijera a Tyler sus sentimientos para que los dos no sufrieran.

Creo que voy a tener que leer el libro de Taylor y Falyn porque lo último se borró totalmente de mi cabeza y no se como no me acordaba de lo que estaba pasando entre esos dos.

Creo que de los 4 libros, este fue con el que más exasperante me ponía porque las decisiones de Ellie me volvían loca, sobre todo en las que estaba involucrado Tyler, cada vez que peleaban tenía que tomarme un momento para procesarlo bien o sino creo que me hubiera vuelto loca. Sin duda Jamie logró conquistarme de nuevo con este 4to y último libro de estos hermanos que sin duda se han ganado un lugar dentro de mí.... y estoy segura que cuando los vuelva a leer sentiré lo mismo que sentí la primera vez que los leí, ya que estas historias son tan geniales que siempreme harán sentir las mismas emociones <3

Beautiful Burn is the 4th and final Maddox Brothers novel! This is actually the first that I’ve read (listened) in the series, and while I didn’t love it as much as Beautiful Disaster (aka the original Maddox brothers book *wink*), it was a good read with a wonderful hero. I had a tough time liking Ellie, the heroine, but thankfully her narrator was top-notch, so I didn’t completely dislike her. Jamie McGuire delivers a well-written new adult novel in Beautiful Burn – it’s fast-paced, sexy, and intense – and Brittany Pressley’s narration made it even better. If you enjoy the series, then you just might enjoy Tyler and Ellie’s story too.

Ellie Edson is used to living the life of a pampered princess, with no responsibility or consequences for her actions. Until this time, one mistake leads her to be cut off from her family’s wealth. For the first time in her life, she’s scrambling to earn money to survive, and though it seems at first like she might fail, she eventually manages to find a job as a photographer. It’s nothing fancy or well-paid… but for once in her life, she’s somewhat content. She’s still dealing with her alcoholism and self-destructive tendencies, but being in a new environment helps. Of course, it also helps that the gorgeous, wonderful Tyler Maddox has set his sights on her, and isn’t giving up until she gives in to the idea of them.

Tyler, along with his twin brother Taylor, is a member of the Alpine Hotshots, traveling around fighting wildfires. He’s not your typical Maddox – dare I say, he might be better in that softer, sweeter way. He’s incredibly patient with Ellie as she fights against her alcoholism and their relationship. She thinks he’s too good for her – and he is, but he wants to be with her anyway. I loved Tyler and his determination to win Ellie over, not matter how frustrating she got. He was really the highlight and my favorite part of the story.

Brittany Pressley did a phenomenal job with Ellie’s voice – her narration was spot-on, and I even enjoyed the way she sounded voicing Tyler and the rest of the Maddox men. She’s definitely an audiobook narrator I’d listen to again.

I wish I loved Beautiful Burn more, but I was too frustrated with the heroine to love it like I wanted to. Everything else about this audiobook was fantastic – the writing, the hero, the narration – but the heroine brought it down for me, unfortunately. I am intrigued enough, though, to start the Maddox series from the beginning and experience more of Jamie McGuire’s writing. I would definitely recommend this audiobook if you have a lot of patience and love the new adult genre!

I need another book please because I'm not satisfied! I enjoyed this book but Ellie got on my nerves sometimes. Tyler is super cute though. I JUST WANT MORE!!!!!
