New Adult, Enemies To Lovers, Bully Romance is a favorite of mine and Trick Me Twice was all kinds of good.

Carter I fell in love with his jerk of a character right away. Raine I totally looked up to her. She hides in the shadows and her character growth was perfect. Delicious sexual tension and loved their fun banter. Angst was good and awesome Raine can hold her own with Carter. The background setting was the best. I felt like I was there with them.

I was a bit worried at first because I was at about 20% and I still wasn't connecting to Raine and Carter but I ended up really liking the story!

If I'm remembering correctly, this is the first bully romance I've read in a while, and man did it ignite my love for bully romances again. While Raine and Carter are not my most favorite characters ever, I really enjoyed watching Raine and Carter's relationship develop.

I also really really liked that after having Carter run hot and cold, Raine was a bad b*tch and told him what was up and to either get it together or leave her alone. Her character growth was for sure my favorite part of this book and I'm glad I didn't dnf at 20% like I was going to!

My feelings for Carter are a little bit more confusing lol. He annoyed me a lot but sometimes I found myself really liking him. 

The reason I went with 4 instead of 5 stars is because I was expecting a more angsty, gritter, darker bully romance than what we actually got...or maybe that's just me. But anyway, this was a fun read, especially because of Halloween being huge in the story and with how close we are to it! I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quick, fun, bully romance!

Trick me twice is perfect for Halloween but I’d gladly read it any day of the year. We have arrogant popular guy and the poor girl next door who don’t get along at all.. until Halloween when he doesn’t know who she is aaaaand things happen. 

I mean can you resist a plot like that? I certainly can’t. This is a bully romance but not all that dark in my opinion. The reason for bullying and the reason they can’t be together don’t seem that dramatic/high stakes to me. 

But I really enjoyed this- I wasn’t filled with existential dread or stressed out of my mind as can often happen with this genre so I was having a good time. This might be a really good first bully or first dark romance... hm actually I might have to recommend this to my cousin, brb. 

The character development was A+ and the dual POV was done really well. I felt like I was really seeing dumb teenage boy logic as it would actually happen! 

Also I want the cover to be my boyfriend.
