This book is probably one of the best book I have read this year or in my life. It’s so different from the other books Wade has done. And as much as I love her other books, this one is the best by far. The message of this book is so powerful, I have no doubt God is using Becky Wade to change lives through this book and the ones to come. The romance between Genevieve and Sam is hesitant at first but when they overcome their obstacles and find Christ, it’s just perfect. Like He is. 

This book reflect that God loves us beyond our wildest hopes, that He is never too far gone and that pain isn’t eternal. We’re gonna be ok.

2022: this book still holds up. skimmed some parts but it’s beautiful and deep. Becky Wade truly never seizes to amaze. ✨

When I started this one, I wasn't sure that I'd like it as much as the sequel, but once again, I couldn't put it down. I loved that Becky tackled this topic and I felt like she did it so well yet with her typical sprinkling of humor. Becky Wade always makes me think, her pacing is great, and she always writes electric romance. I enjoyed going back and reading about the earthquake through the kids' eyes, too. Personally I thought Sam needed a little bit more accountability; everyone was making sure Gen didn't slip, but Sam indulged a couple of his own coping/ destructive habits (on smaller scale) without anyone to check him. This isn't a critique of Becky's writing, because it's realistic, especially for his character, just a note for the reader to watch out for it. Like I said, she makes me think, and her theology is good. I enjoyed this story.
