Love the Hades/Persephone vibes mixed with fae! The fact you can read how the previous book impacted the world and even the characters of the last book returns is fun. Cant wait to read the next one!

Very slow at the beginning but when it picked up I could not stop reading. The plot twists literally made me scream. I’m contemplating reading the universe series but not too sure yet bc of how slow it was in the beginning. But the middle to the end was absolutely amazing and I loved it. And not to mention the description of the sex…….

It was okay I mean it wasn’t my favorite but I didn’t hate it I liked where it started off at but I can’t really say the same towards the end i think it just got boring maybe because it was the last final chapters or something else but it was an okay book.

I enjoyed it more than the first book in the series. There were moments with good narration, description, and emotion, and I enjoyed the different personalities of the characters. The pacing was good for the enemies to lovers trope, and the hades/persephone retelling was fun. Now, onto what I didn’t enjoy: 1. too much nonchalant cussing that took me out of the narrative 2. there were a lot of character decisions that lacked motivation or reason in my opinion and 3. just like with book one, the ending fell flat for me; I think it dragged on longer than it should’ve. 

Not sure what Alderson was trying do with Faenir’s character. When we are introduced to the elf prince, he seemed upset and angry about having to kill whoever he chose but then kills Tom and his family without motivation as if it brings him joy? And it’s barely spoken about again? And then later in the novel he says he wants to prove to Arlo that hes not the monster his family says he is but…he killed Tom in front of Arlo. It seemed like a scene that was thrown in just to show that Faenir is morally grey or something, but it didn’t fit with the narrative being told. I honestly couldn’t move past that as I read the rest of the book. This was the biggest character decision moment that made no sense to me, but there were others littered throughout the book.
