Contrary to most of the reviews that I read about this book, I liked it. I didn’t love it or think it was a super fantastic novel, but for a light read it was perfect! It was carefree and sweet and exactly what I needed for today, because I was avoiding studying and classes were cancelled due to icy roads.

I absolutely loved this line: “There you are, all ready to pass Go and collect two hundred dollars, and suddenly Colonel Mustard is trapped in the conservatory, ranting and raving and waving a wrench, and no one knows what exactly a conservatory is or why anyone thought a wrench- of all things – would be a good murder weapon, or what branch of the military Colonel Mustard even served in! Has anyone seen his credentials?”

The beginning started out a bit slow, but I felt that for the most part it picked up by the fifth or so chapter. There were a few things that didn’t quite add up. In particular the bits about her mother. At one point it says that at age 26 (I think) her mother was happy that she had found a corporate job, but then later it says that she had lost her mother at few months after she turned 22……

Sadly, I figured out who Mr. Tuesday was pretty early on, but I still liked their relationship. I loved the notes that they left each other and their phone calls. My favorite was when she said she writing things all over his underwear and his retort was so great! I loved how obnoxious they were with each other although they had never met. I do wish though that there had been more. That she had figured out who he was soon, because I love a good love story, but it definitely wasn’t the main point of this novel.

I found the people that she worked for to be quirky and fun. Their different personalities made for a nice blend and were enjoyable to read.

This is a cute, fun, light read that is definitely worth giving a try. It goes by fairly quick. If you don’t have really high expectations, then this book won’t disappoint!

thought it was a funny, loveable, cooking galore. it wasn't really. and the ending especially showed how little the author thinks about women.
