Rare Danger
Reviews

I've only ever heard good things about Beverly Jenkins and her books so it was long past time to pick one up for myself. Rare Danger was the perfect place to start. A quick read, funny, and of course mysterious. I loved Jasmine as our heroine and her meet-cute with Torr was 👩🍳💋. It's fast paced story, but it didn't feel lacking even though it's a shorter story. Also, how do I get Jasmine's job of curating personal libraries?? Sounds perfect.

I received a galley of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This just didn't really work for me. Mainly because the thriller aspect to this novella just wasn't really well done, in my opinion. It just didn't feel very thrilling or suspensful to me. I also just felt like it was a bit hard to follow at times and I overall just wasn't very interested into that element of the story. The romance was pretty fun though. I could really feel the chemistry and attraction between our two main characters. I also think the two characters were pretty interesting characters to follow, if not a bit underdeveloped (which wasn't too terrible considering it was a novella). However, I feel like the romance moved extremely quickly, a bit too much for my own taste. I mainly checked this out because I'm interested in the author and I'm definitely still interested in checking out other stuff by Beverly Jenkins.
