This was one of those books where I "couldn't put it down". I finished it in a day. This was mostly down to the shear nastiness, the twisting, clinging, clammy unpleasantness that made me want to be out the other side as quickly as possible. Similar to The Vegetarian (the only book I've ever deliberately left in an airport) a star rating doesn't feel quite appropriate. This book is something unique, and I'm not sure I want it in the house.
