This book was perfect in every way! Chris colfer is such a creative author!

3.5 stars.

SO GOOD, I LOVE THIS SERIES. FAST PACED AND SUCH A GOOD CLIFFHANGER. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE

** spoiler alert ** I wasn't the biggest fan of this book for the main reason being that once I got closer and closer to the end of the book, the start of the book started seeming really far away, and the rest of it just started to drag on. A lot of it started seeming pointless when they were jumping from one world to another, and most of the characters started to take unrealistic actions (even unrealistic to their characters). And I think they should've put more of Bree and Emmerich, because they seemed like very irrelevant characters that were only there when the author needed a chapter to use as a border chapter between a cliffhanger or something, but as we know, the plot that happens is very important. As well the writing wasn't really entertaining, and its currently my least favourite in the series (which is kinda sad because I was looking forward to it a lot since I liked the one before this much better)

I found this book amazing I really enjoyed the start!

So this was so cute and I really enjoyed it. I loved how other fairytales were incorporated, the characters were just so wholesome, and I loved the ending. There will be slight, mild spoilers , but nothing to spoiler. I absolutely loved the storyline too!! So first lets discuss how other stories were incorporated. I absolutely loved how other fairytales and classics were incorporated. I think it made the book exactly what it is and I think it really helped the plot. I loved how the author had them leap into books and how they were in other stories. It was very created. They leaped into the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, King Arthur, Robin Hood, and Alice and Wonderland. I loved that component and it maybe my favorite. The characters were so enjoyable and seemed so real to me and a lot of reviews said that the character descriptions were bad and to simplistic but I think it suited the story very well. No matter the description and how short it was I could just envision the character and I really enjoyed that!! So this part may contain some spoilers. The ending was just * chef's kiss* It was so interactive and I really really enjoyed it. Even though they did not catch the masked man I still thought the ending hit home. I loved how Alex fell in love with Arthur but still had the courage to leave the story to travel back to the fairytale world for his benefit. It was just so sweet. The ending was just so good. I am applauding this book right now. The storyline was also very nice. Like I mentioned before I love how they leaped into different stories. Friendship and love really shined throughout that portion of the novel. I just loved it. The last thing I want to discuss is the other opinions of the story. A lot of opinions are that this book was not needed in the series and that it was a filler but I highly disagree and here's why. So in the third book, the masked man made his first appearance in the series. In this fourth book they are trying to stop him from destroying the fairytale world. Without this book, we wouldn't know the masked mans identity, reasoning for trying to destroy the fairytale world, and why he wants so much power. Without his fourth book in the series character bonds wouldn't have grown and we would have missed so much. I think this was one of the most important books in the series because of how the world changed so much and how much the characters changed and how their bonds grew so much. I have missed writing long, thorough reviews like this and I am glad to have had time to do so this weekend! If you have made it to the end of this lengthy review, PLEASE READ THE SERIES RIGHT NOW. It is such a good wholesome middle grade and no matter how old you are you are bound to like it. I highly recommend the series and it deserves so much more praise in the reading world. So PLEASE READ THE SERIES! Once you pick up the book and read the first page you will fall in love with the writing and characters!
