I had an absolute blast with this book. Bella was a straight up rollercoaster and frankly, Jacob only got a pass because he was also going through it. Their interactions were delightful though. Really it was just a lot of fun to read.

This is the second book in the series and, again, it fills in some of the gaps from the film. I didn't find it particularly well written but it was readable with the visualisation of the film to help. I actually found the relationship that develops between Bella and Jacob made better reading than watching the film (although without the visual benefit of Taylor Lautner minus his shirt!), as Jacob is a much more likeable character than Edward Cullen (although I find the Cullens as a family fascinating). I'll continue with Eclipse in due course...

Oh, wow. That was just...awful. I definitely did not have as much fun re-reading this novel as I did with Twilight. Like, not in the slightest. As we know, there are a lot of problems with this series. I mentioned in my review of Twilight that there's a lot about the book that can be problematic, but I like to take it as something to learn from and it doesn't hinder me from enjoying the book. However, with New Moon, basically the entire BOOK is problematic. I just kept finding myself rolling my eyes and waiting for the ending. And this book is unnecessarily looooong. I enjoy Jacob as a character but a good chunk of this book didn't need to be there. And I hated the way Bella treated him but then he would go do something that pissed me off and I was just sitting there like UGHAHH the whole time. I will still be reading Eclipse next because it was, originally, my favorite of the series and I'm kind of excited to re-read it and see if anything's changed. I just hope it doesn't surprise me as much as New Moon.

this shows Rosalie's true intentions and ulterior motives. nothing we've seen before. quite informative, really. Merged review: this was just Edward moping around being emo in some corner of the world. a dreary yet good read, I suppose.

honestly? skip this book. my god, jacob is the worst character whose ever annoyed me.... ever. read the beginning, skipped the middle with jacob, before settling back when Alice came back to Forks and “finished” the book from there.

Bella and Edward face a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. This is my favorite book in the series. The expanding of the world, and Bella’s characterization in Edward’s absence, along with the introduction of new supernatural creatures. The initial break-up and the time jump devastated me when I was reading this in elementary school. Looking back on it, I wish that Bella’s character grew stronger from the events of this book instead of remaining weak.

I want to dislike these books, but I've read 2 1/2 of them since Saturday evening. (It is now Wednesday, early afternoon.) That's why this book gets 3 stars, not fewer. I know now why people read these so fast. They're a bit addictive. So much annoys me about the characters, particularly Bella. But obviously, they evoke strong feelings and deep thoughts, so they can't be that bad, right? I'm still hoping for a bit more meat, but I only have a book and a half to go, so maybe I shouldn't dare to hope.

What can I say? It's has similar taste like Twilight. I can't say this book is a fantastic read, even though it's famous. I survived, so that's good. I gagged at some points (they were too cring-y ), or I was just reading through the book to finish it. I'm a fast reader. Reading a book in a day is sometimes a good thing, since I get to read more books faster than some people, but also, it gives you more time to read other books in a day to get over the book you're currently reading. It's the same for this book, I just DON'T get why some drama parts were involved, it was just sometimes not worth putting it in. It starts off by Bella's birthday, but she hates it. Because she's getting older than Edward. It's kind of weird, since everybody LOVES their birthday. You're the star of the day, you get presents and cakes and all those glittery stuff. But Bella hates it anyway. Might as well get over it. So when Bella is opening presents in the Cullen's' house, she accidentally cuts her finger and a drop of blood comes out. That's when everything goes CRAZY. I think everyone gets what it is for human blood to Vampires. Especially to (view spoiler)[Jasper, since he was the one who was about to attack Bella for her blood. (hide spoiler)] After those drama happens, Edward's not really sure if he's right for Bella. Like, he's asking himself questions if Bella is going to be safe without him. Of course, as Edward said Bella always bring danger into her life, Bella's going to be safe with him (because he's protecting her from any harm. He's strong.) But, Edward might make choices, that breaks Bella's heart . . . I have to say, in this story, I couldn't really get the full picture. We don't get a lot of Edward in this book, but we get more of Jacob (which, I think has up-and-down emotions). Jacob gets closer to Bella, filling her hollow heart (who, I should blame Edward) so they grow closer. But, who knows? They might fall in love, but is Bella's heart actually IN love with Jacob, or does she still look for her dear Edward? There's a difference between loving someone and being IN love with someone. I never knew the difference, because it sounds the same, but it feels different to the characters. Because loving someone is caring for them, and always supporting them with all your heart, but being IN love with someone is going much deeper. Like, in books, they would put it as 'forging your souls together'. That's what happens in new Moon. Bella might love Jacob, but she might still be in love with Edward. I'm not going to say more to spoil more stuff, but maybe her heart changes throughout the book? Love is always floating in the air :) Like I said, we get a lot of Jacob. He's brave and young, but also very protective. (view spoiler)[Maybe that's because he's a wolf and is loyal to his packs (hide spoiler)] But I don't like that he wants to keep Bella to himself. I think if he was to end up with Bella, he might've been awfully selfish and kept Bella. Cagin her. I don't know, Jacob as a kind heart, but sometimes, he might loose his temper and be... (view spoiler)[violent, I guess (hide spoiler)] It was just a read through this series, because I gave a go at Twilight. It was good enough, but of course. When Twilight is mentioned, it's always known for the vampire romance, but also those too-high drama that sometimes makes me want to eye-roll at the book. Ok, in some places, there were bloods involved, but other times, it was kind of overreacted to me. Also, I don't like how Edward sometimes calls Bella 'love'. It sounds so cring-y, and probably he's really old. He's like 110 or something. That's old. REALLY old. It was still readable enough for me to finish this book...

This book was really relatble and I really like the vibe but to be honest Edward just pisses me off. Also their Relation Ship is so whiny. Why does bella treat her das like shit? Like u said I really like the books but Edward and bella really make me want to crie sometimes

Hello all! I have returned yet again from an embarrassingly long reading slump and have finally finished New Moon (!!) so here is the review I know you have all been waiting for.

As some of you may know, my journey reading the Twilight Saga is completely organic. I don't really know anything that happens in the series as I never cared to find out when it was popular.

This has made reading the books pretty silly and fun. I was thankful that in this book we really dug deeper into Jacob Black's character. We got to learn much more about him, his friends, and La Push.

The definite downside to this book was that learning about Jacob, and just about everything else, was clouded by Bella panning after Edward. Again in this book, similar to the first, the main action was smushed towards the end of the book with tons and tons of fluffy filler in the beginning.

When asked if I think Bella should end up with Edward or Jacob I am still unsure of my answer. I think she treats Jacob rather unfairly, as she is essentially just using him to distract herself from missing Edward and also strings him along by showing him more attention than typical besties would show to each other. Finally, Jacob is rather obsessed with Bella and hates the Cullens. I am excited to see more interaction between Jacob and Edward themselves in the next installment. Edward on the other hand was kinda just oblivious to the state he left Bella in but when they reunited, his love profession made me melt a little bit inside (lol). Bella was kinda annoying though being so insecure and naïve about Edward's obvious feelings towards her.

Alright that's enough ramble. See y'all at my next review, hopefully it's sooner than five months from now. Now to start Eclipse!

Dreaded the beginning. I felt as though the first half of the book could have been cut shorter. The second half was a page turner. Can’t wait to pick up Eclipse after I rewatch Twilight for the 6th time and watch New Moon.

"This doesn't really bother you, does it?" he demanded, squeezing my fingers.

"No," I sighed. Truthfully, it felt nice. His hand was so much warmer than mine; I always felt too cold these days.

"And you don't care what he thinks." Jacob jerked his thumb toward the bathroom.

"I guess not."

"So what's the problem?"

"The problem," I said, "is that it means something different to me than it does to you."

"Well." He tightened his hand around mine. "That's my problem, isn't it?"

Jacob noticed my scrutiny.

"What?" he asked, suddenly self-conscious.

"Nothing. I just hadn't realized before. Did you know, you're sort of beautiful?"

Once the words slipped out, I worried that he might take my impulsive observation the wrong way.

But Jacob just rolled his eyes. "You hit your head pretty hard, didn't you?"

Edward played with the radio while I drove, shaking his head in disapproval.

"Your radio has horrible reception."

I frowned. I didn't like it when he picked on my truck. The truck was great—it had person-ality.

"You want a nice stereo? Drive your own car."

Tutto sembrava identico a come l'avevo lasciato.
