Aiden and Lucie. I love love loved this book!

Aiden and Lucie found their magic 🥹 I really liked this book. I picked it up onna whim when I saw it on the New rack at the library and that was definitely a good choice. One thing I'll always like in a book is when the side characters aren't stillwater placeholders and the relationships between the main and side characters in this book are so so sweet and beautiful. I'd definitely recommend this to others bc it's worth the read.

I’m gonna manifest this.

this book was kind of a tough read. i loved the plotline and how it started off, but it dragged. there was sort of insta love with aiden and lucie but i surprisingly didn’t hate that. they just had chemistry right off the bat, but even 50% of the way through it had felt like nothing happened and nothing was progressing.
third act breakup was kinda dumb ngl, aiden’s reasoning made sense but i also was like… ok and??? stop depriving yourself of love? ally and i read this together at the same time and it just wasn’t that great. i was cruising at the beginning but the end really dragged on. i’d pass on this tbh!

i loved this book so much, i literally read it in a day. i can’t wait for the next one in the series (based off my fav movie when harry met sally)

the 12 year old carried

This book was magic and no one can tell me otherwise. There was not one single moment where I wasn’t completely wrapped up in the story. It made me laugh (and not a cute giggle, like an overwhelming laugh with my whole body cackle). I read this on Libby but I will likely purchase a copy because I will absolutely be rereading this.
Reading this felt like watching a movie with your girlfriends and yelling at the tv, telling the main character to just kiss the girl already. Very rarely is a romance novel a five star read for me, but First-time Caller was flawless

OOOOH MY GOD THIS BOOK

i love love and i love a good romance book, hell i love bad ones too, but this was not it for me. the levels of corny headassery was just too much for me! it was like the author wrote this with the intention of it being turned into a romcom movie and you can feel that in all the cheesiness (/neg). the witty one liners, the banter, it was not good! AND THONG SONG?! literally my favorite song and that scene still was corny and trash as hell. sorry!

I don’t know what B.K. Borison laced in these pages but it was the most addicting thing possible. This gave classic 90s romcom vibes and just when you thought all the meet-cutes were written this classic comes along. I was obsessed with every second I read of this book. The banter, the chemistry, all of the characters, yeah every single thing part of this book was amazing. I’m so excited for book 2 and wish I could have it now but I’ll test my patience to see if I’ll last. But yeah, if you haven’t picked this one up yet please rectify that because this was amazing and is a really good romcom. This is coming from someone who doesn’t always love romcoms but B.K. Borison is my go to for them because they are always amazing.

didn’t hate it but also didn’t love it? definitely has some cute moments but the couple was just not doing it for me. and the smut scenes kinda gave me the ick. also felt a little too long for a romance.

i genuinely don’t know where to begin, like how can i sum up the words to describe this book? i don’t know but ill try because i have so many feelings.
the writing was not only fast paced but the author just created such an atmosphere. it felt like i was there seeing it all, seeing the little quirks the characters did in real time.
lucie was just wow. the way she described the way she felt. the way she was just so unapologetically her, there was never a time where i was frustrated with her (i normally get frustrated at MC’s at least once) but she was one of the best characters.
aiden oh my gosh. i loved this man from the very first sentence. he was broody, grumpy and an avid love hater (woo me too!) but you could tell he cared even if he said he didn’t.
okay now aiden and lucie together???? oh lord. the flirting. the banter. the protectiveness (from aidens POV) oh i ate that shit UP. i loved everything about them. from the way they met, to their little conversations on air, to the way they were so soft with eachother, to the ending. i will never not think of them.
all the side characters, i loved every little crumb i got of them and im excited to see who gets a story next in the series.
this book had me laughing out loud, screaming, giggling, kicking my feet, tearing up. and even at one time laying face down on the floor playing sad music (it wasn’t even sad. i’m just so very dramatic).
if you haven’t read this, do it, now, or i’ll find you.

the audio book saved me, and i finished within 24 hours. this is the first time i really enjoyed fmc more than mmc. he’s great but he self sabotage a lot lol. the grand gesture at the end was great.

I loved this so much. I loved the friendship between them and how easily they found themselves becoming friends. It makes the banter and the jokes so much more fun in my opinion and like something that genuinely has a chance. It felt low stakes, but not low quality. I loved all the FMCs quirks and what a total cinnamon roll the MC was, even when broody.

3-3.5 from me.
I am a slightly jaded BK listener so I will preface with that.
My main issue with this book is this - how is no one talking about the fact that she has a kid? It is never even discussed if Aiden wants kids or likes her kid? Her kid was the catalyst for all of this and then its never discussed if Aiden or any of the other "suitors" are okay with it? It just seems like a big plot hole for me.
The dual narration was amazing for this though and that is why it got such a high rating from me. I loved the narrators plus the radio ads a lot - probably my fave part.
Also this isnt really a Sleepless in Seattle retelling IMO - besides it starting somewhat similarly, I would not say this is a re-telling so dont go in expecting that.
Overall just okay for me.

This book has been on my radar for a while and one of my most anticipated releases of 2025. I have been a fan of Radio for several years, and this has to be one of my first books set around a radio station and when you mix that with my love of Romance stories, I had a feeling that this one was going to be a magical ride and of course it is!
First-Time Caller is a tender and warm romance following Lucie, a single mother and mechanic, and Aiden, a charming and prickly radio host. When Lucie's daughter calls into the radio show looking for advice on her mother's lack of romance, Lucie decides it's time to get back out there and find some magic with the help of Aiden and the listeners of Heart Strings radio show.
This is a slow burn romance and Aiden and Lucie where the perfect couple. This one was drawn out with plenty of tension and banter. They really listen to each other, and I think that they help each other see that they are both capable of love and finding their person. They really listened to their own feelings before confessing and jumping into a relationship.
This book truly reminds us why it’s important to take the leap, be vulnerable, and ask for what you want.

this was great. i really enjoyed it, great banter back forth. easy side characters. simple but very very sweet. utterly enjoyable. i was sold immediately when he said “dr indy”

I like thinking that I‘d be worth the trouble of something like that.

You touched me like you didn’t care what I thought and I- I liked it.
