The concept of this book is amazing and I applaud the author for the courage it took to do this experiment 
That being said a book that shouldn’t have taken more than 3 hours to read took me weeks
And here’s why:
1) The author expands on his own self identity struggle once changing his skin color more than the race issue which is what I came to read
2) The author approaches the subject with too many biases to record an honest experience 
3) A huge percentage of what’s written is about the looks the author received as a black man 
Considering the authors fear it’s hard to know how much of this is in his mind 
4)Diary style writing is not so much my taste 
5)Author constantly explains that there is a lot of racism as opposed to showing with examples 
6)Author constantly interpreting others actions by his current mood 
7) As many pages were taken to tell what happened after the experiment as the experiment itself 

In short this book is not my taste but I don’t believe it to be a bad book across the board

Racism, race-relations, and the like do not interest me. That being said, this is among the most honest and least inflammatory takes on the matter I've seen, and in that regard, I appreciated it. I would not recommend it unless you are particularly interested in race-relations.
