Blitzing Emily A Love and Football Novel

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads . This fun, sexy and romantic book took two people from totally different worlds and put them them together in a way that was incredibly charming. NFL star and notorious playboy Brandon and opera diva Emily have a perfect meet-cute as she attempts to deliver a ridiculous Valentine's gift from his ex to him. Well maybe not-so-perfect since it lands her in the hospital and leaves him masquerading as her fiancé so she's not dealing with it all alone, but it was a great way for these two characters to be introduced to one another. After their fake engagement makes the news, the benefits to both his and her career are apparent and they decided to stick with it for a month. A month stretches into longer, the fake engagement leads to friends with benefits and eventually some real feelings and they each find themselves face-to-face with something they weren't looking for, but find increasingly difficult to deny. Emily was a strong and likable character. She was closed off to the possibility of love thanks to her jerk of an ex. It was a little difficult to relate with someone whose career was an opera diva, with a female that knew nothing about football, but I still liked her. Brandon was hot and sexy and had a genuinely good heart underneath that player (football and otherwise) exterior. They had a ton of chemistry right from the start and I enjoyed how their relationship grew slowly, naturally, while they maintained their fake engagement. I couldn't help but root for them to find something real together... and admit it. The only bad thing about this book was that it was just a little longer than I thought it needed to be for a light and fluffy romance. I enjoyed the writer's style and I liked the characters, but by the time I made it halfway through, even I was anxious for it to get the show on the road, so to speak. It left me with a big smile on my face though, so I suppose it was all worth it. If I gave half stars, this would be a 3.5. :)
