Meh.

The book is loosely outlined around how he came to acquire so many cats after already living with so many creatures. But that's not enough of a hook to keep one reading. Although he lives with a bunch of cats, he's not really fond of any of them. Nor has he really made any effort to get to understand them. He just sort of has them.

Cat lovers will especially enjoy this book, of life in a house with five cats with very different personalities.

My mom gave me this book because I have three cats of my own, but I just couldn't connect with the author/main character. He spends a lot of his time describing the myriad forms his anxieties take, which somewhat took me out of the story as a whole. I deal with anxiety myself, but I just couldn't identify with this. His cats are interesting and entertaining, though.
