I wanted to like this book because I love Bob the Drag Queen, and I think the overall idea was fantastic, but this just felt like reading a fan fiction. This book only scratches the surface of emotions, telling instead of showing through the entirety of it. Because of this, I just couldn’t get invested in the characters or the plot. I wanted to stick with it, holding out hope that it shifts, but I was disappointed. I do think it tackles some pretty great themes, but in a way that lacks depth. 🎙️✨
