So this story is what happens when the worlds of Faerie and our own have and devastating war, not realizing that our worlds are tied together and both worlds end up wrecked. 
Liza's mother has left, after her little sister was born with magic and left out in the woods to die.. 
She has just found out that she has magic, and decides that she doesn't want to die, so she goes off on her own, later finding out that a boy from her village has decided to go with her, and that he also has magic.. 
after some mishaps in the magical woods that like to eat people. Liza and Matthew end up being taken to a village where magic isn't feared by the people are taught how to use it. Liza ends up going on a mission with matthew and a young girl are going to Faerie to get her mother back.. 
I did quite enjoy this story, and def want to check out the next book in the series..

I enjoyed this book it had a good story but it dragged a little bit to much for me. I would be really into the story then it would just lose my interest and it kept doing that through the whole book. Overall it was a good book and I will be reading the next one. If you like dystopian books this one is different than a lot of the other ones which was refreshing. I wish there had been a little more romance in the book. I hope that book number 2 has a little more romance and that I get to know the character a little better so I can connect to them more.
