- “I didn't tell her that I felt like the real winner. I'd never liked seeing her with the ankle monitor; it had always felt like a sacrilege to cage her in like that.”

- "I'd do it for you. You are my wife and I want to make you happy."

- "We need to protect her from the Outfit. Her Father won't accept it."
"You want to protect her?"
"She's still my wife. And I'll protect her as long as she'll let me."

- "I knew the moment I saw you lying in your own blood that I didn't want to lose you. I knew it, but I still didn't want to admit it to anyone. I was so stupid and stubborn. I was being bitchy Gianna like usual. And once I'd agreed to Luca's offer, I was too proud to tell him that I didn't even want his stupid freedom. I didn't want to leave you, didn't want another life. I probably would have been miserable alone but too proud to admit it if you hadn't broken down. It felt like I was giving up, like I was admitting defeat, which is so idiotic. How can love ever be a defeat?"

- “Maybe she was waiting for me to say something first, to tell her I loved her, but I wasn't going to open my fucking heart to her and risk her stomping on it. I knew what I was feeling, had known it for a long time but I'd never said it to her. I'd never said it to anyone. Admitting something like that made you vulnerable and so far Gianna had given me little reason to risk that. I'd hunted her long enough. Now was her turn. I wouldn't push her in either direction. Everything from this point on would have to come from her.”

- "I've run from my emotions for too long." "I want to be with you, Matteo. By God, I know I shouldn't want it, but it doesn't matter anymore. I'm sick of ignoring my heart. I love you."
"You sure you mean it?"
"Yes. There's no fucking doubt in my mind. I love you, Matteo. I don't care what that makes me. I don't care what other people think about me, about us. I don't even care what Aria and Luca think. All I care about is us."
 "I love you, Gianna. I've fucking loved you for a long time."

- “I'd never be okay with everything Matteo did, would never do even half of the things he had done and was going to do in the future. But I'd realized I didn't have to be happy about every aspect of his life. As long as Matteo treated me with care and respect, as long as he loved me, and I loved him, things would work out. I'd stand by him and support him as best as I could, because he was mine and I was his.”

- “Even without the breeze and the blue sky, I would have felt free. It had taken a long time but I realized I could feel free, be free, even when I was bound to Matteo.”

Finally funny characters with some personality. I was getting bored with the same scheme of bland heroine and alpha male hero. But still, this series is all about an arranged marriage and a strange obsession with being a virgin.

The plot is probably the most interesting of the three books in the series that I have already read. I’m a sucker for a boy obsessed trope, so I liked Matteo obviously. Giana was fine, she did a few things that could have been handled differently, but I tried to understand her motives.

it feels forced because matteo is luca's brother, who's married to aria — gianna's sister. technically, they're already a family? 

it held no sense or benefit, aria and luca were matched to gain peace between the famiglia and the outfits already. so what's the use?

too much plot hole, everything feels rushed. i personally want more of gianna's adventure, she deserves that. matteo could pursue her differently, give her the adventure she needed and make it his weapon to melt gianna. they could do it together if matteo didn't act like an obsessive and crazy person.

their characters are funny, it's really a waste that their banters weren't a mix of sarcasm and witty insults 

i really expected more of their story but what's done is done, i guess

omg this one was so good and so worth the wait. i didn't really love that the first quarter of the book was recap but there were a few cute moments in there so it wasn't a total waste of time. that aside, i loved the banter, loved matteo, and gianna, they're perfect and this book was way too hot.

Wow... I mean..just wow... I've been keeping this book under my want to read list for long and now when I got my eyes on it, Jesus I can't even move on from it. I've always had love Matteo's attitude and his sense of humor and the where he and Gianna seem too pissed each other and Luca off is hilarious. 

It was something refreshing from other Mafia Romance but I love it. Just regret that I didn't read it sooner.

Gianna’s stubbornness is what made me not like this book as much as I expected to. Her not wanting to express/reveal her feeling towards Matteo was annoying. There were also so many arguments between other characters. It just felt unnecessary to me. I did like the ending though. That’s what is making me give this book a 3 instead of a 2 star rating.

Loved the couple! Gianna and Matteo are my favorite! The book felt rushed tho,

WOW! i actually enjoyed this book LMAO. like the other 2 books in the series were romances with practically no chemistry, like the FMC loved him and would take a bullet for him and sure the MMC was possessive but beside that he didn't seem to care for her and it seemed like a rushed romance with all the love coming in the last chapter/epilogue.

but i really liked this book. regardless of what anyone says Gianna was amazing. she spoke her mind and reminded me of Nix from The Spy by Sophie Lark (which if you've read, you know is amazing and shes incredible). her feelings weren't unreasonable and her behaviour was justifiable imo, like ik in the book everyone else thinks shes a bit questionable but idc i love her to bits and pieces. she's scared and she's brave and she's so many things at once and i think although it was a little rushed, it was captured so well here and there's deffo an improvement that you can see with this book's characters as opposed to the first book.

ALSO DIBUFHIJ there was dual pov which we hadn't seen in the first book which really added to the experience. it gave us so much more insight into Matteo's mindset which I think would've been amazing in the first 2 books. Matteo is this flirty, play-boy type who has his eye set on Gianna and regardless of what she does to get away from him, he knows what he wants AND HE'LL GET IT. he was funny and charming and idc what that says about me but i loved him.

the chemistry between them both was THERE!!!! like oh my gosh Reilly finally delivered with an actual romances and she really put some effort into this one man. i dont wanna spoil it too much so ill leave the rest but i just loved the way we had both characters pov and could really see their feelings and the conflicting emotions and everything <3

but like i said. it was still rushed. like there was 2 big kinda events that happened in the play and i feel like they were both half-done and instead of developing on these events which had had such a big lead up to them, we were instead handed with time jumps. no flashbacks or nada, i notice that Reilly seems to do this in her other books too which just really takes away from the experience. like sure we see the characters feelings after but what's the point in even including them if the whole build-up was practically for nothing. <spoiler>like there was such a big build up to her growing up and the wedding and all we got were just boring time-jumps and then when she ran away it wouldve been AMAZING and added so much to see her pov and get a view of her daily-life and how she was actually doing without the mafia and everything with her being on the run but instead we just got the tiniest little snippets, like not even enough paragraphs for a small chapter and then all of a sudden she was found again!?!? like especially with her in chicago. what was the point of her being in chicago, the very place where her family lived if she literally did nothing there? it seemed so useless and just like a dumb filler paragraph, esp as it Aria had literally said that her passport would be useless bc they'd known that A would help G and that in europe there was no border control and that whole spiel. what was the point of that for her just to travel back to europe anyway?</spoiler>

is it just me or has the transition to being attracted to one and other to being in love been a bit unnatural in these books? it’s like “oh he has a wonderful cock to fuck and now i love him😍” whattt? i keep missing all these sweet moments, all they do is have sex (i like my smut, but still) and suddenly they’re in love. but ig it’s just the mafia life, am i right😜✌️🫥

This book definitely continues a great series. 
I have loved the characters since book one and I was excited by Gianna and Matteo’s story. I like how we see glimpses of all the characters even when this focuses on one couple. 
The plot of the book is good but I didn’t much like Gianna running away. It took too much time away from the main relationship. I also find the repeating scenes, even if they are in different point of view, a bit boring since I still remember them from the previous books. 
Overall, this book is good and I’m happy that once again there is a happy ending. I can’t wait to continue with the series!

It's not easy to enjoy this book to its fullest when you don't grow found of Gianna. There's a thing called being independent and another called being selfish. I completely understand her distaste for the life she grew into but putting her family, especially Aria, in danger was such a big no for me. Mostly because she didn't even give an opportunity to Matteo. 
When Aria helped her, I was just so upset and the entire time Gianna was in Europe was infuriating because you just know she isn't cut off to a "normal" life and she knew it too. And she continued to annoy me throughout the entire book... 
The main reason I enjoyed this book was because of Matteo. The way he talked and acted regarding Gianna was really so interesting to see... He never truly tried to hide his feelings for her and so far the other books hadn't shown that. Plus, he is just so hilarious. 
The bonus part of this book is that it finally has a dual pov!
I initially scored this 2,5⭐️ but I changed it to 3⭐️ because of Matteo.

Not only once again this is an arranged marriage but also is kind enemies to lovers, which i must say i loved this two combined

It was very easy to read, it took you from page to page really fast. It was indeed very addictive and hard to put down

Gianna and Matteo are meant to be but that doesn't mean they will found trouble in their journey to overcome who they are and their struggles
