when i say Wilson's novels are fever dreams this is what i mean.
almost feels like a sort of precursor to his later series, but i may just be correlating themes a little too much. anyway, loved it despite the utter insanity on so many different levels. there's nothing shy about the tackling of hard things from a 12 year old's perspective and also a brazenness about the understanding of love.
love how it took me half the book to realize it was inspired by beowulf. also i cannot for the life of me remember the first time i read this.
