What an ending!! Can see where this might continue in the future (?) fingers crossed. So much interesting philosophy and life lessons that are applicable to our own present day situations (politics, environmental, religion, friendships, loyalty, power, and more!). Not to worry though, you can enjoy this for the simple pleasure of what it is an amazing story and powerful imagination!! Hope to see this series as a movie sooner than later.

Emperor Elend Venture, having survived only to become a Mistborn himself, struggles to find clues by the Lord Ruler that will save his world, while a guilt-consumed Vin takes on a task of ending the cosmic power of the Ruin mystic force.

This was a very beautiful book indeed. I love the heavy figurative language in it. I think this was my favourite book in the trilogy, but I am not sure why. I loved the ending, even though it wasn't what I expected.

Tricked into releasing the evil spirit Ruin while attempting to close the Well of Ascension, new emperor Elend Venture and his wife, the assassin Vin, are now hard-pressed to save the world. This adventure brings the Mistborn epic fantasy trilogy to a dramatic and surprising climax as Sanderson's saga offers complex characters and a compelling plot, asking hard questions about loyalty, faith and responsibility.

Unpopular opinion. I thought this trilogy moved a little bit too much into the fantastical. I prefer the more grounded setting and plot of the first.

I didn’t see that twist coming! What an ending! It was so good that it lifted the entire book into another level for me. Which also means that the middle or even initial part of the book was just not that exciting. The first 2 books from the series start in the 4th gear, this one starts in the 1st and doesn’t shift gears for a long time.

The story of Vin and Elend end on a satisfying note. Kelsier’s shadow still remains prominently throughout the end saga however, it didn’t have the similar impact compared to the 2nd book.

The Ruin, the lore behind it, its powers are well told and explained. It’s the other supporting characters (excluding Sazed and TenSun) and their story that disappointed me the most. The 1st book was all about this cool band of misfits but in this book it became only about 3-4 primary characters. I got bored while listening to Spook oriented chapters.

But all well that ends well and this book delivered with its ending. A 3 part series ends with a fitting finale and a superb twist for which I will remember this book for.

PS. - 1st Brandon Sanderson series that I managed to finish which definitely feels like an achievement of some sorts.

I think this didn’t suffer with pacing as much as the other two did, but I enjoyed it. A good ending.

What a finish to a series. Great follow up to books 1 and 2. Flew through the book, looking for the final solution to the story, only to find myself wishing I had slowed down. So many thoughts surrounding the ending. Truly a wonderful series.

3.75/5. didn’t magic me quite as hard as the first book, but had a heck of a resolution. i agree wholeheartedly with the decisions made at the end of the book, but would have liked to have understood more of the world before we lost it. also, i think the book could have been 15-20% shorter if we stopped recapping every 4 chapters.

After about four months, I have finally finished the Mistborn Trilogy, and I could not be happier about the ending. Have you ever read a series, and from the moment you finish it, you know the story will stay with you for years to come? That's how I feel with the Mistborn Trilogy. 

Premise:
The third book within the Mistborn series, The Hero of Ages Vin, and the rest of humanity, must deal with the Deepness resurfacing and environmental disasters. If that wasn't enough, a new, or old, enemy has returned to end the world. The thrilling conclusion to the Mistborn Trilogy is action-packed and full of large and small answers that have been building from the start.

Writing & Plot:
One word to describe the writing in The Hero of Ages is magic. The reader slowly answers questions they had throughout the trilogy, plus some answers they didn't even know they needed, and I was shocked at each one. The Hero of Ages is unmatched. It's no secret I had some issues reading the previous two books because they're long and full of politics which can be a bit slow, but everything was for a reason. I am so happy I stuck with this series because it is now one of my favorites. 

I ate up this novel. It's almost 750 pages, and I read it within a few days because I needed to know what happened next. It's one of those books that plays out like a movie in your head. The plot, the setting, everything comes together in this last installment, and I don't know how Brandy Sandy did it, but he made magic. I'm going to be thinking about this book for years to come. I'm jealous if you haven't read it because you get to read it for the first time.

Characters:
I don't even know what to say. Every character in The Hero of Ages goes through a transformation of some kind. All character development reaches a climax, and I am so appreciative of the time, and effort Brandon Sanderson went into creating these complex characters. Not one character was left out, and I am still in AWE with the ending. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm going to stop there... teehee...

Conclusion:
Yes. Read it. I had my doubts because I didn't seem to love the first book as much as everyone else, but after this final book, I see the hype, and I understand it. Each book within this trilogy gets better and better, and I am thrilled to see where the Cosmere takes me! I sense an obsession coming along quite nicely. This book is mind-blowing, and I never say that! 

Once again, these books are slow, which is why I can't give them five stars, but it is for a reason. I still think it's so worth it, and I wish I could read it for the first time again. The Mistborn Trilogy is a must-read for any fantasy lover. A one-of-a-kind story with one-of-a-kind characters!
