Really surprised at how much I enjoyed this. It lost a bit of steam throughout the latter half but it was such a charming read.

This book was sweet and funny, but it also felt really dated. Maggie and Ira seem so much older then they are - and maybe that's just because we have a different attitude about age and aging now.

Maddening. It's Anne Tyler, so I give it 4 stars, but my least favorite stories are those where bad things happen to good people, no matter what they do. (The movie, "Meet the Parents," is the same way for me.) I actually also think Ira is the worst person in this book.
