Robotech

I grew up watching Robotech on tv. I've rewatched the series well over two dozen times since it originally aired (we recorded each episode on the VCR and I still have those tapes in the garage). I'm not sure if my extensive and long -lasting love for and knowledge of the Americanized trilogy puts me at a disadvantage here or not. I can't help but compare the dialogue, the characters, even the action and backgrounds to the anime so I'm not sure how a newcomer would receive the comic, having no previous exposure to the show. Is it better if your childhood isn't being rebooted in floppy format? Or does it make it confusing? Maybe this really is for first timers and not for the diehard lifelong fans? I'll keep reading but I'm not excited about this comic now.

Idk if I'm being a brat or an old fogie rattling on about the good old days. Maybe it's just me and this series is fine. Huge time skips and glossed over plot points annoy me. Make me want to stamp my foot and tell the creator to do it better. It's not a great attitude to have when trying to read something for fun. I may have to break up with this series.

Better. I think bringing Furman in on scripting has helped quite a bit, not to mention the larger deviations from the original series. I also had a realization while reading this. I hear the voices in my head while reading (please, please tell me I'm not the only one who does) and Khyron sounded just like James Mason. I don't know how I missed that in the 30 years I've been watching the anime, but yeah. Gregory Snegoff must have been channeling Mason for that character.
