Bridgerton: Romancing Mr Bridgerton (Bridgertons Book 4) Inspiration for the Netflix Original Series Bridgerton: Penelope and Colin's story
Reviews

I’m absolutely in love with this series this and the last book were so amazing

I wish I read this before watching the season (which was the plan). I was just very underwhelmed, mainly because I don’t really like Penelope and I had an idea of how it was going to turn out. But nonetheless it was still a good read!

the writing style is not my favorite and colin’s personality is bit all over the place but i enjoyed it for the most part

I haven’t finished a book that was this captivating in SO long. penelope & colin’s love story was so seamlessly written and beautiful. I ate that shit up. I loved every second. and now I’m sad it’s over.

So happy I was able to read Colin and Penelope’s story before the new season came out. While the story of them as a couple was cute and I enjoyed seeing how it all came together from a situation that happened in both the books and show. While I didn’t enjoy the miscommunication that came from the whistledown situation I did like their story but I’m thinking the show may do some things differently. Or I’m at least hoping it will.

really enjoyed the first half of this book but that second half was a bit repetitive. they were fighting about whistledown a lot which to me got a little boring. when they finally got past that it was good though.

colin you complete buffoon. anyways i need season 3 yesterday.

cute story, but i didn’t enjoy the writing style.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat for most of it. There are some parts that reach a slow point, but overall, the plot is unpredictable. Colin and Penelope make an interesting couple in the way their story unfolds. One of my top 3 in the Bridgerton series so far (still haven't read Gregory's book yet). I definitely recommend this one and I think it's one of the best out of the series.

I was rooting for Colin and Penelope and their book is amazing but a bit disappointing ? Penelope spends most of the book dreaming about Colin who is a bit too whiny. But I loved the end. And Lady Danbury is the absolute best!

Highlights

He smiled, and suddenly she knew that his words were true. Everything would be all right. Maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow, but soon. Tragedy couldn't coexist in a world with one of Colin's smiles.

"Love grows and changes every day. And it isn't like some thunderbolt from the sky, instantly transforming you into a different man. I know Benedict says it was that way for him, and that's just lovely, but you know, Benedict is not normal."
this drag 😭

She had been born for this man, and she'd spent so many years trying to accept the fact that he had been born for someone else.
To be proven wrong was the most exquisite pleasure imaginable.

He supposed he should have deemed the evening a failure for that reason alone, but in all truth, he couldn't quite bring himself to do so.
After all, he'd spent the better part of five minutes holding her hand.
HE IS SOOO

She turned to Colin with a smile. "She's very clever, you know."
"I know," he replied, a strange, new pride brimming within him.

...Penelope Featherington was not the same woman he used to know.
Or maybe she was, and he had changed.
Which made him feel even worse, because if that was the case, then Penelope had been interesting and lovely and kissable years ago, and he hadn't the maturity to notice.

But he sensed that Penelope's feelings depended on his next words, and at some point in the last ten minutes, her feelings had become very important to him.

He made her more confident, more daring. He made her more... herself. Or at least the herself she wished she could be.

Her mother loved her. She knew her mother loved her. And she loved her mother back.
It was just that sometimes she didn't much like her mother.
