I remembered I had this series on my tbr (book one already read) and I thought I needed a break from my current reads, so here I go

I have been wanted to read Storm and thought I would start with Elemental since I have not read this series. I liked Elemental and love the Romeo and Juliet theme with enemies falling in love. 

When Michael and Emily first meet it was not on good terms. She wanted to beat him over the head with a golf club.

He leaned in. “I come here every Wednesday and Friday.”
Emily Nodded.

“You going to try and kill me every time?”

Michael is dangerous with his power, if he loses control he can be sent away. There is a mix up with him and Emily’s brother. Emily soon realizes he is not as bad as her brother and parents make him out to be. He is actually sweet, caring and just trying to live a normal life.

I wanted to know more about how they got their powers. There is no back story on how these bad guys can come and take him away. 

I enjoyed reading about Michael and Emily. I wish there was more to their story. The ending left me wanting to know how they would of kept there relationship going with both parents as enemies. I did get to read the first chapter in Storm at the end and off course it left me wanting more. I had to buy it. Brigid Kemmerer has a great writing voice. The characters felt real. I look forward to reading about the rest of the brothers.

I haven't really read much about this series but I knew it was something I would enjoy because I find it fascinating when characters in books can control the Elements. This is just a short story that has really made me excited for the series.

Elemental is set five year before Storm and it follows Emily and Michael. Emily has the air Element and has too a job at the sports center to help her save money to move away. Michael's element is Earth and he is very powerful, so powerful those who are apart of the Elemental community think is a danger to everyone. However, when they end up in close contact they end up being attracted to each. Sadly, both their parents want them to stay away from each. But her brother, he wants Michael Dead.

With just 50 pages I was completely hooked from page one. I connected with both Emily and Michael straight away. Usually in novella's I find it hard to feel a connection but this was not the case here. Emily hates the fact the her life is so full of hate that she just wants to go away from family. Michael, who everyone think is a danger is so sweet and lovely. OK, there is a slight danger about him but that only adds to his appeal. And the chemistry between them is wonderful. Having the story told from both Points of View we get inside both their head and feel what they are feeling.

However, I didn't really like how the ended. I know its only a short story and you can only fit so much in it but I felt like it just leaves you hanging there. So I only hope find out what happens in book 1.

I am really looking forward to reading Storm and seeing how this series continues. It's different and exciting with what i can only hope more swoonworthy guys!! ;)

           This was a good start to the series. I read it after Storm to avoid any spoilers, but I don’t think it really spoiled anything. Michael was frustrating to me at the beginning of Storm but I quickly wanted to know more about him. And by the end of the book I knew I would love him. He cares so much about his family. Also having read that, I know how this ends. Which made me so sad, because I loved the Romeo and Juliet feuding families aspect. They weren’t supposed to be anywhere near each other. I liked them misunderstanding each other, but wanted the hate to stop. And they found that in each other. I’m glad the end left off on a good and sweet note. This was good.
