The Love of My Next Life Next Life Duet #1
Reviews

full of family drama and friends. very very toxic relationship BUT WHY AM I KIND OF ROOTING FOR THEM????? THIS IS SO UNHEALTHY. BRB READING THE SECOND BOOK AND I WISH THAT WILL BE BETTER THAN THIS….giving this solid 3 stars….idk how to rate and review this book at all…

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The book I never knew that I needed. What a wild read! I am seriously in awe over Brit’s work on this book. Every single time Brit comes out with a new book I’m seriously amazed with her writing abilities. She gets you sucked into the story almost immediately. Straight off the bat I knew that I was going to love this book, strictly just because of the cover and the blurb itself. I was however pretty skeptical going in because these main characters are in high school. I stopped reading YA books a little while ago just because of how immature most white characters are, and for good reason they are immature. But with Macon and Lennon it just works nor did it really get on my nerves. Not even 10 to 15% into the book I knew this was gonna be a five star read. Macon and Lennon (by the way Lennon is one of my all-time favorite names for a girl and would definitely be my author name if I ever decide to write a book one day) are two people who are on paper not right for each other. But the spicy chemistry that these two have is unlike any I’ve seen in a long time. The number of tears I cried while reading this book is too many to count. The last half of this book really got to me. This is such a heartbreaking and soul crushing story, I really can’t wait to see where book 2 is going to go because I have no idea. Also, I need to just say that I really, really, really hated Claire, who’s Lennon‘s best friend and Macon’s younger sister. She is an absolute terrible friend and sister. I don’t ever think I’ve hated a character as much as I hate her. This book is an absolute must read. If you’re in the mood to read something with a really heavy topic, a story that feels real and doesn’t hold back on giving you all of your emotions, then this book is a great book for you. This is also one of those books that you would definitely want to read in one sitting because I know I sure did want to. I also may or may not have been reading while at work 🤫🤫 Also that cliffhanger? Absolutely brutal!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some of my favorite lines/quotes: “Why do you keep pinning me to doors?” Her voice is the sexiest rasp, and I have to bite back a groan. I smirk instead and bring my lips to the shell of her ear. “Maybe I need to make sure you stay where I want you,” I say, then bite down lightly on her earlobe. She arches her body into mine, and I blow out a slow sigh through my nose. Holding back. Waiting. “You gonna run, Astrea?” I’ve never seen anything so intoxicating. So worthy of obsession. “I hate the person you’re making me. I hate who I am when I’m with you, but I hate how I feel when we’re apart.”
