The Problem With Players The Problem Series #2

As a female coach, I’ve always lived by a simple mantra: throw hard, swing for the fences, and never, ever look back--especially when it comes to past flames. So when my ex-boyfriend somehow manages to land the job as my new assistant coach, my life is flipped upside down. The game I thought I'd mastered is now being played with a whole new set of rules. My ex is baseball's all-star Nathan Pierce. He’s tall, dark, and undeniably handsome. He's also all too eager to spend extra hours working together while flashing that familiar devilish smirk of his that still sends my heart racing. Between playful teasing and lingering stares I discover that Nathan isn’t just here to work. He’s here to rewrite history. Our history. And when fate throws another curveball involving me needing a place to stay, Nathan offers up his spare bedroom, which sends me spiraling into emotions I believed had long since faded. Now I’m faced with the ultimate decision: keep it professional and continue fleeing from our past, or confront it head-on by playing the game he thinks we were meant to finish together.

averynathan are now one of my elite employees - This book is written FOR ME!!!! this book gave me so much buzz and TEARS like I haven't read a book that made me feel this way in so long. This book is my exact favorite trope - "she thinks she’s hard to love and he loves her like he's breathing." thank you brittainy for this book and for averynathan <3

peace by taylor swift (literally averynathan's song and the way I'm sobbing bc this is my song)

warm by ariana grande

“You don’t have to be perfect to be loved by me.”

brittainy c cherry's writing perfectly portrays not just a genuine, beautiful love between averynathan but also the complexity of depression. sometimes, explaining this type of feeling is difficult, especially to people who have never experienced it, but this book perfectly voices the feelings of someone with depression. i felt so seen through avery's character, especially with her overthinking and self-doubt. her character has such a profound sadness inside of her that felt so real to me. her songs are difficult by gracie abrams and the bolter by taylor swift

nathan. ugh WHAT A MANNNNN. i love him so bad. the way he has been and will always love avery GOTTT MEEEE. not only does he deeply loves avery but he UNDERSTANDS her and her sadness!!! he knew avery was sad with just ONE GLANCE even though avery was hiding it from everyone. he just gets her and that gets me!! also i love that nathan character has experienced depression himself so he has some sadness in there too. also the way he looks forward to avery's smiles and laughs made me sob actually
