Some loves never let you go . . . Cassie swore she'd never forgive Ethan for breaking her heart when they were in acting school years ago. He was her one great love, and when he refused to love her back, a part of her died forever . . . or so she thought. Now she and Ethan are sharing a Broadway stage, and he's determined to win her back. Finally he's able to say all the things she needed to hear years ago . . . but can she believe him? Has he really changed, and what makes this time different from all his other broken promises? The answer lies somewhere in the past, and now the truth will come to light. Will Cassie rediscover what it's like to be trusting and open again - the way she was before Ethan? Or is it too late for these star-crossed lovers? Don't miss this mesmerizing sequel to Bad Romeo, the unforgettable love story that captured the hearts of over two million fans online.

not for me. I liked the first one, but this just seemed like angst porn eventually, and I took a break and could never bring myself to get back to it. throwing in the towel.

In Broken Juliet, the sequel to Bad Romeo, thinks pick up right where they left off with Cassie and Ethan. They are working towards trying to potentially form another relationship, all while dealing with flashbacks of the second half of their college careers. Pros: • Flow of flashbacks- Especially compared to Bad Romeo I thought the way the past and present came together is a lot more cohesive. There were also great parallels from how present Cassie and past Ethan are in similar situations which add to the story. • Humor- The cast of characters is memorable because they are funny both in their dialogue and their actions. • Chemistry- The main pro for the whole series is the relationship that Cassie and Ethan have and the passion for each other that just leaps off the page. Cons: • Duology- While I don’t want to complain about having more content from a good series, it does make me question if a lot could have been edited from both books and they could be combined? It feels awkward that the story was halved in the middle and there was no real conclusion at the end of book one to just be carried over into book two. While I do not have many complaints and do love the story, I rate Broken Juliet at a 4.5/5 because it doesn’t carry the same weight for me that Bad Romeo does. a

Twitter || Blog || Pinterest || Tumblr || Instagram || Facebook

OKAY OKAY OKAY I FORGOT HOW TO BREAHTE This may have a few spoilers, not mayor ones but there's something... I'm in love! This book had everything I love to read: romance, character development and a well written cliché. It was just so heart warming, and the flashbacks were placed perfectly to fit to the present day. I think I loved this one more than the first one, just because it gave a good conclusion, it didn't rush, it didn't seem to be out of nowhere, the characters TOOK THEIR TIME. Ethan respected her without leaving his personality behind, and that was super incredibly amazing, because even with all the development he made, he didn't stopped being himself, he was Ethan, but he wasn't broken anymore. THAT WAS AMAZING, THAT'S HOW YOU DO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. He wasn't angry, he wasn't sad and dramatic, he was finally a person with something else more than pain. And Cassie, the way she was pictured in Dr.Kate sessions was amazing, because it was easy to see how broken she was, and how much she had worked in trying to ignore her love. I'M JUST SO HAPPY I READ THESE BOOKS AND DIDN'T FOLLOWED MY FIRST INSTINCT. Definitely one of my favorite books from this year.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads . After the wicked cliffhanger at the end of Bad Romeo, I was dying to get my hands on Broken Juliet and find out what life hand in store for Cassie and Ethan. Despite my initial intent to dive into it the minute I received the ARC, I put it off because good things come to those who wait. And this? This was a real good great thing. I expected angst and sexual tension and emotions in the second book in this series. At the end of Bad Romeo, Ethan declared his feelings – and totally won me over in the process – but Cassie was rightfully hesitant. Their history was not pretty. Of course, we only barely scratch the surface of that history in the first book. Through a series of flashbacks in Broken Juliet, we learn just how messy their history is. How utterly devastating it was at times. This isn't a light, easy read, but it's also not too angsty or heavy. It has the perfect amount of emotion and drama... for me at least. Like Bad Romeo, this book is told solely from Cassie's POV and in both present day and past flashbacks. As she begins to let Ethan back into her life, we live in the present with them and flash back in time to when they were in school and first trying to make a relationship work. We get all the details – good and bad. Cassie and Ethan's relationship has always been passionate, volatile, all-consuming and intense. The intensity was both good and bad. The highs were high, the lows were low. And it was exhausting to me, so I can only imagine how they felt. Of course, I'm not going to tell you what happens... or any other details at this point. I'm just going to say, if you enjoyed the first book and are looking for closure as much as I was, you need to read this. The character development was incredible. In the last book and this one, we learned how Ethan overcame his issues to get to the place where he could confess his feelings to Cassie. Now it's Cassie's turn to face the music and put in the work to heal and forget so they might stand a chance together. I found Broken Juliet a stunningly sexy and emotional conclusion to Cassie and Ethan's story. I have high hopes for both Cassie's and Ethan's future. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the first book and the cliffhanger made me want to read more so I was very happy when I got the chance to review Broken Juliet . It didn't take me long to read this one because I was hooked from the very beginning. It is so very well written that I did not want to put it down and I didn't. I read it all in one afternoon. I give this 5 out of 5 stars.

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life “Let me prove I can love you the way you deserve.” Less than impressed by Bad Romeo, I went into Broken Juliet with low expectations. I really hoped I would like the characters more since I really disliked them in Bad Romeo. So while I can say that I didn’t hate Broken Juliet, I still didn’t like the book, or the characters, very much either. “What do you want?” I want him. Can’t want him. Need him. Hate needing him. “I don’t know,” I whisper. “I do,” he says, leaning forward. “Invite me in. I promise, I’m here to stay this time.” Broken Juliet picks up right after the end of Bad Romeo, with Cassie deciding whether or not to finally give Ethan another chance. In Bad Romeo, we know that Ethan broke Cassie’s heart twice, and here we finally get to know the details. Through the flashbacks, we discover the repetitive hurt and anger that make up Cassie and Ethan’s tumultuous relationship and the reasons why Ethan could never commit. He loved her, but his reasons for leaving her were so shallow and eye-roll worthy, I couldn’t like or understand him. Past-Ethan was such a moody asshole. (FYI: Being an asshole doesn’t make you a bad boy – being an asshole makes you an asshole.) I found myself skimming a lot of the flashback chapters. They were incredibly repetitive and full of angry and/or angsty sex. Past-Cassie was a doormat, and even worse, a horny one at that. She kept giving in to the lust she felt for Ethan that I wanted to shake some sense into her. They had such an unhealthy relationship that I couldn’t get behind it or support them at all. Thankfully, present Cassie and Ethan have grown up. Well, Cassie still rightfully harbors anger, hate, and hurt, but Ethan, thank god, has finally changed. Still, it took SIX YEARS for them to finally arrive where they are in Broken Juliet. I wouldn’t say I loved the new Ethan, but I was definitely looking forward to the ways he would prove his love for Cassie once and for all. Still, I would have enjoyed the present timeline much more if it weren’t for the many awful flashbacks full of bad decisions being made over and over and over again. This series had so much potential, but the flashbacks just ruined the it for me. I hated the Ethan and Cassie of six years ago so it was hard to like them in present day even though they weren’t as awful. Leisa Rayven’s writing, though, was a definite perk to reading this series, but it just wasn’t enough to let me fully enjoy reading. I really wish the flashbacks had taken a step back so that present day Cassie and Ethan could shine more. I don’t think I ever fully understood before what a profound ability humans have to change, especially with the right motivation. We’re capable of remarkable evolution. Not just physically, but mentally. Emotionally. All in all, I had a difficult time with Broken Juliet. I can see fans of Bad Romeo enjoying Broken Juliet since they are pretty similar angst- and character-wise. I really wanted to love this series since so many people seem to enjoy it, but I can’t see how or why. I’m a big fan of the author’s writing, so I’m hoping her other upcoming books will have characters with much healthier relationships.
