The insertion in the Biblical text of the signs for marking vowels and accents has been the result of a centuries-long process. We possess, however, only very few documents relating to the introduction and the early history of Hebrew vocalization systems. This book provides every student and scholar interested in Biblical and textual studies with a complete collection of those documents. It attempts to analyze the available evidence basing on a critical approach, with detailed footnotes and a reproduction of the texts themselves.
