Beginnings and Endings with Lifetimes in Between

Book intended for children which explains death by presenting life as having a beginning and an end, with an appropriate Tlifetime' in between. The length of this lifetime varies according to the type of living thing and is affected by illness and injury. The illustrator was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1986.
